Mayfield fans sure seem confident in their team, but let me remind you this isn't class A football. You're playing a 2a powerhouse that could keep up with any 6a team any day of the week. This is nowhere near desales best team ever. I can think of teams that didn't win championships that are better than this one, 2009 for example. Mayfield couldn't put 30 points on desales defense in their wildest dreams. You all are cocky and rightfully so, but Mayfield will get a true welcoming to 2a powerhouse football on Friday.

War Memorial stadium...home of ur 11 time, (3 time current defending) state champions..a place that many teams' dreams have been shattered...Mayfield has only been beat once in regular season at home sense 2007( 6a Mccracken in OT).but Mayfield has not lost a home playoff game sense playing murray in the second round of the 1997 playoffs..so to all the Desales fans, when u step into our home (War Memorial) remember at that moment ur no longer in colt country, you've entered cardinal nation..go big red!! Not sure about Desales team speed. But if I were guessing y'all will not be any faster than OC. Big and strong can only get you so far. Now add speed to that then that's a force to be reckon with. OC was fast on both sides of the ball and we handled them pretty darn good last night. OC had the fastest player on the field and the fastest I've seen all season. He played WR/CB and returned kick offs and punts and he was a non factor last night. Mayfield has speed and Desales is bigger from what I have gathered. Not saying Desales is slow and not saying Mayfield is little. So if I had a choice I had rather be a faster team than a bigger team and I think that's what will be the difference.

 

I think we both got what we wanted. You all were more concerned about CAL's skill players and we were more concerned with OC's speed and offensive style. Regarding the Colts, we have speed, just not as much as the past couple of years. We are ground and pound primarily, but we can move the ball in the passing game also.
