I somewhat agree with Vitale's assessment of Rondo. I think 21st is a little high for him. I thought he would go early in the 2nd round. But I'm happy for him and wish him all the luck in the world.

I was mostly commenting on the way Vitale made his point. He as usual went on and on about how he would'nt make it but that is Vitale. Would he had been so adamant about it if the kid had been at his two pet schools or his pet conference? I did think that Rondo would go in the first round though with the way he can cut to the basket, handle the ball and pass the ball. IMO he is a pro type player. Rondo can't shoot very well, can't shoot free throws but is very good one on one and has a crappy attitude. Perfect for the pros with that talent and the "all about me / bad attitude" resume.:lol: :sssh:

Even Shaq ides the pine in crunch time. FT's are VERY important to NBA players.

Supposedly it will be a 3 team deal with either the Jazz or Cavs and they will either send Boozer or Drew Gooden and A.I. will go to the Celtics. The reason Rondo was picked ahead of Williams the point from Uconn in this situation is because both the Celtics and Sixers liked him better, so if Boston doesn't make the trade then they will still have Rondo, but Philly wants him as well. And about the lottery question...The Celtics wanted him at 7, but wanted the trade with Telafair to work so thats how that happened.

Jay Williams had a great work-out with Billy King and Mo Cheeks last week, and they both agree that he is ready to help a team again. However, based on what I read, both were real evasive about his chances of signing in Philly. I believe Billy said he felt like Jay was about 80% of where he was in the past.

 

I'd almost rather have him than Rondo or Telfair. However, if the Sixers can pick up Boozer and Williams (or one of the PG's in Boston) it would at least be more palatable. In spite of the under-handed nonsense that Carlos pulled to get paid in Utah at the Cavs' expense.
