I don't see how ISIS survives much longer. They just make too many enemies. France, Russia, Kurds, Al Qaeda, Taliban. And of coarse, they have no favour with the people they govern. They surely bust be deluded, because they have no allies.

These actions may be Hail Marys to scare the world. They could probably terrorize the region for decades if they left the rest of the world out of it, but I agree this is the end of the beginning of ISIS.

ISIS is missing bad by threatening Washington DC or NYC.

If ISIS wants to shut this country down from fear so to speak, they would need to threaten small town America not the largest cities. When 9/11 happened most of us were outraged and upset but we felt relatively safe out here away from the cities targeted. If ISIS were to threaten small towns or carry out attacks in cities like Danville KY, Martinsville VA, Muncie IN, Sevierville TN...then there would be wide spread panic across the country. Attacking or Threatening large cities enrages the Average American, but it does not cause the deep seated fear they are wishing to accomplish.

Wonder how these types of threats are going to impact upcoming elections. The gun control crowd can't be excited over this news. The NRA and the gun lobby will be screaming 'I told you so'.

Don't. Poke. The. Bear.

ISIS has been poking the bear for a while now, our so called leader thinks he can negotiate and befriend these barbarians. Bully starts hitting you, better hit him back or he's gonna hit you again tomorrow! He told us on the campaign trail that he would reduce the American military, he has certainly done that!

A President with some *guts* would be able to make a pretty good argument that a direct threat on the US justifies troops on the ground as a response and convince the far left that it's justified.
