I am PUMPED for this one. I got to call the action a year ago and remember the agony of the Aces fans, coaches and players walking off the field. I felt like Catholic should have won that game but let it get away from them with some missed opportunities throughout. Ive literally been looking forward to calling this game since I interviewed coach Edge in July.

 

This is Catholics game to win or lose. I think they are the better team but will need to come out and play like it. The Aces field a VERY underrated defense, led by stud linebacker John Mark Boarman. He and Nick Blair command the middle and do a very good job vs the run. Michael Mills is another name to lookout for on that Aces D. He is a ballhawking DB who leads the area with 4 INTs. On the offensive side of the ball, Shamari Morton is the guy im looking to to make an impact. He has came on VERY strong down the stretch as an electrifying playmaker for OC. Hes scored a receiving, rushing and return TD in each of the past two games. A word of advice to Murray....dont kick this kid the ball. Last but not least, RZ3. Some people have maybe mentioned that he has came up short in big games like this, but he also hasnt had much help with a lot of dropped balls. I expect the game time temp to be a little warmer than in years past and i expect that to favor the Aces. I think the kids want to get the win for their coach and to get that Murray monkey off their backs. If Catholic plays the way i know they are capable of playing, they win this thing going away....

I haven't seen Owensboro Catholic this year, but I've seen Murray. History sure has a way of repeating itself with certain matchups, but my gut feeling is telling me this is the year Catholic gets their victory.

Tight game. Could come down to who wants to lose to Mayfield next week the most. (I just wanted to get a jumpstart on the trash-talk). :lol2:

Ok. He was good. I thought Catholic D had him bottled up til 4th qtr and he made some plays including like a 40 yard run and then a TD pass to seal the deal.

 

My friends tell me they are running a bunch of style offenses like a flexbone, spread, I, and the old singlewing. That's a lot of offenses for a team to remember. You think that's why they have 4 losses? The Graves score really surprises me, Hoptown my friend son plays for them. He thought Murray QB got hurt then, Paducah game surprised me too.

 

Murray is going to throw alot of differet looks at you. Depending on what personnel are available. Murray had a number of injured skill players out for a few games that I thought would have made a difference in those games.

If I'm correct Murray only had scored 6 points until about 5 mins to go in the game last year and OCath had only scored 9. From what I've seen and read, Murray isn't as good as last year and OC is much improved IMO.

I haven't seen OC play BUT I can say Murray SHOULD win this one, I don't think they do but they should. They look like a college team warming up. Somehow it just doesn't translate to dominating though....I think they have just gotten it in their heads they cant make it happen. I do think both teams beat each other up bad in this one and then get a Mayfield team next Friday that gets a running clock tomorrow.:thumb:

Murray is a team that went through some injuries midway through the season but the Tigers seem to be healthy now. OCath, is firing on all cylinders, but the Aces haven't faced top notch competition in quite some time. OCath did have a great performance versus North Hardin and I think seeing the athleticism that the Trojans had, has helped prepare the Aces going into this game.

 

I still think OCath wins the game, and if they do Mayfield better be ready to play. OCath does what they do very well, and you don't typically see their level of execution in the passing game at this level. Ray Zuberer III is a senior QB with a cannon arm, and is a deceptively quick runner when needed.

 

OCath-Murray is going to be a battle.

A contrast in styles to put it mildly. I don't think there is a person in this world that can call this one, way to many variables. Which Murray team shows up? The one that played well enough to win against MF or the one that resembled Custer at his last stand in PT and Graves Co. For OC is Murray in their head? Will they have a Daviss repeat performance? I just can't tell from looking from a distance who is the favorite here and I don't think anyone likely can either

Personally, I think Murray is as good if not better than last year.

Murray will need to be better than last year to win this one. I think Catholic has a much better defense this time around and they have Shamari Morton. Hes a game changer. I attended Ray Zuberer's signing today and i liked the vibe i got from the coaches and players. If they are tight, they do a good job of not showing it. Im going to stick with my original prediction but Catholic will need to execute to pull it off. That means no dropped balls and no stupid turnovers. Should be a good one!

After watching some hudle video of Murray it's obvious the key is line play. Murray is much bigger on both lines so the Aces will have to be very sharp up front.

Its Friday the 13th OC vs. Murray! Zuberer's number is 13 so I feel the stars are aligning for an OC win!

If its a shootout OC has the advantage. If its a grind it out, low scoring affair Murray has the advantage. I saw Murray play once against Mayfield (first half only) and they seemed very tough/physical. But the law of averages says OC will get them sooner or later. Should be a good one.
