Baker and Daniel are having great offensive seasons, no doubt.

 

Baker's overall offensive numbers are better -- IMHO -- but Daniel is a two-way star-/threat (not that Baker isn't, since Baker's stats show an INT return for a TD).

 

The point I was TRYING to make is that BOTH players are in the conversation because they also play defense (Daniel at a very high level on defense, but Baker is pretty darn good, too).

 

Robbins also plays defense (CB? S? FS?) and had a key interception or breakup against Central Hardin, IIRC.

Round 3 of the playoffs now who are some contenders?

JALEN REED from Trinity should be mentioned 20 Tds. The schedule they have and multiple weapons. The first game against St X 154 yds rushing and 3 Tds.

Raceland had the ball 1st +goal twice last night inside the 3. Kash stuffed them giving up ZERO points on those 2 1st and goal drives. Hit and big 4th down jump pass ala Tebow to seal the game too. Paintsville off to 1st 12-0 start in school history playing another undefeated this week.

Hate seeing Q Baker out hurt the last 2 games. Great career. Really thought Ashland/Central round 2 would be a battle.

The only player in the state that impacts a game on both sides of the ball like Daniel is Brett Slusher from Beechwood. I have seen him almost singlehandedly step up at crucial times in big games and makes play after play that stops a drive. Tough for a WR / LB to get votes for a POY / Mr. Football award but if anyone deserves votes from those positions it is Slusher. If Beechwood gets to the championship game, he will make plays there that will show everyone what I am talking about.

I haven't seen this Slusher you are talking about, but Dee Cain from Caldwell is the single biggest impact player I have seen in a while. When he is returning punts no one kicks to him. When he is on defense, all plays go away from him. When on offense, the opposing defense follows him around like a dog on a leash.

Ray Zuberer. He threw for 5 TD's vs. Murray and went 20-28 for over 300+ yards. Those 5 TD's put him over 100 TD's in 2 seasons. WOW! What does he need to do? If OC beats mayfield will it be enough?

Simon Kenton's Dillon Powell has lead 6A in rushing most of the season. 12-0 record he has 208 rushes 1545 yards 7.4 yards a carry 140.5 yards a game 22 total rushing tds and 14 catches 175 yards receiving 1 td. Over 3500 career yards.

Not that Muhlenberg county was that successful, I heard the Homers Radio show post stats for Hunter Combs. He's a quarterback and has just as many rushing yards as passing yards. Somewhere around 3,000+ (Don't quote me) and 30 TD's, of which I believe 17 were his. The Homer's has video of him, They call him Johnny Football. He's the only 6A kid on the rushing list who is a quarterback.

And you guys aren't even talking about one of the top 2 way players in the state. I'm sure everyone you guys are talking about is really good - and I think Kash will get the award. But my vote would go to Rodjay Burns from Trinity/UL. You want to talk about an impact player on both sides - come check out Burns. And I will mention his stats are against top notch out of state teams, in the largest class, playing X two times this year - and he had to unfortunately come out of games in the 3rd quarter when we were blowing teams out.

Daniel or Slusher for Mr. Football..These two guys do everything but sell hotdogs during halftime..
