Called it after the UK game but the truth is, he's been a lame duck for a while. I'm glad he is leaving on his terms though. Nice run ole ball coach.

One of my all time favorite coaches.

All-Time Interview team as well

Great interview for sure, maybe he still shows at SEC media days to make it a little more interesting.

Has to happen. But sure do hate it for CFB. The Ole Ball Coach makes CFB exciting.

He lost that team and ut was time. Gives them more time as they search for another coach.

Effective immediately. Wow. When it is time to go it is time to go. College football will miss him.

As much as i like to see him lose especially by my cats still hate to see him go.

Kirby Smart or Tom Herman' date=' IMHO.[/quote']

Not sure there is a hotter coach than Texas Tom. Hoping he makes his way back to Columbus someday.

Charlie Strong would have been a candidate in my opinion if things didn't get better at Texas. The Oklahoma win helped put some salve on the wound.

South Carolina does not have a great history of success until OBC arrived.

High-level job that will get top-notch candidates.

Surprised that he didn't retire before now. Either way, he had a very accomplished career. One of the best runs of coaching football ever.

Like him or hate him the Ole Ball Coach was a great one. I'm a little sad to have seen him fling his last headset. He gets a tip of the visor from me. A true game changer. Hopefully he finds his way to a broadcast booth. His wit was almost as sharp as his X's and O's.
