Steve Smith Sr. says a Steeler (Mike Mitchell?) is on his 'lifetime hit list'

Oh and I'd pay to watch Steve Smith and Floyd Mayweather fight. I think Steve can whip anyone. Or at least he thinks he can. He'll fight anybody. :lol2:

Steelers Make A Move, Sign Panthers FS Mike Mitchell - Steelers Depot

This describes his last season in Carolina.

you are not quoting the entire thing...

Summary: Yet another member of the 2009 draft class, Mitchell is an intriguing player who can certainly help a team. Despite being a second-round pick, he didn’t become a full-time starter until this past season. In 2013 he displayed some very positive strengths and some glaring weaknesses. He was one of the best blitzing safeties in the league, generating 11 pressures and four sacks on just 23 pass rushes — whoever signs him will surely want to tap into his obvious blitzing ability. His +3.5 coverage grade proves that he can hold his own in the passing game too. Where there are major questions with Mitchell is against the run. His -6.2 grade against the run was the ninth-worst in the league and no safety missed more tackles than his 18. He will obviously need to clean that up if he will ever reach the next level, but he should generate plenty of interest in free agency from teams in need of a safety that won’t overpay for the upper-echelon names.

Don't you love it when "tough" guys whine like girls when they get some of the medicine back they like to dis out?

Probably the only time I'd root for Mayweather.

Let's be honest. A lot of posters on here don't care for Mike Mitchell, and it doesn't have anything to do with his NFL career.

Well, we are best at eating our own: see Towles, Pike, Barker, Mitchell, etc.

And I was talking about his tackling efficiency. No safety missed more tackles than Mitchell.

Now if you want to talk about his pass defense. Yes he may have done pretty well in Carolina because their front 7 was really good. How's he done in Pittsburgh? 3 passes defensed last year. He's not defending passes and he's not tackling...

His year in Carolina was his best year and that's only because the front 7 was so good at getting pressure and forcing bad passes that Mitchell capitalized on.

I have no issue with his ky history. He plays for my favorite team, poorly, sadly

I'm positively indifferent toward Highlands and his time there. I speak only as a Steeler fan, and he has not impressed me. I hope we can find a better option soon.

Report says Smith broke 4 ribs in this horrible effort.

Saying Mike Mitchell sucks is kind of asinine though. Tim Tebow sucks. Thus he is not in the league just like the rest of us. Obviously Mike Mitchell can play football at a high level as he starts for a team in the NFL. That doesn't scream "he sucks" to me. And before you all come back with the Steelers defense sucks and that is why he is there logic....I'm pretty sure Mike Mitchell would be able to find a starting job somewhere in the NFL. Let's not act like he was just picked up off the waiver wire during training camp because of injuries.(see: Mike Vick)

Now...I'm not claiming him to be a pro bowler or anything of that nature. If you want to hate him because he is dirty, that's cool. To say he sucks just because you don't like him and how he plays is as foolish as me saying Kobe is better than MJ. A little perspective here people...most of y'all saying he sucks are smarter than that.

Pretty much the same argument I've made for Dalton in the past couple years. When you say a pro suck's you're really saying he sucks as one of the elite athletes who made it to the NFL. There's always a bottom tier, it's just that at the pro levels the bottom tier is still elite.

That's Mike Mitchell's game, he plays the enforcer role.

Could be a game saving interception by Mitchell right there.
