September 29, 201511 yr Didnt we say that about PT? Yep. And a year and a half later we all hope he can continue to grow as the team needs him to grow in order to be successful. Last week's performance was a huge step for him. We all hope he can keep it up.
September 29, 201511 yr In glad Barker is getting his chance, kinda wish Stoops would do what Mizzu did/does and let him start the first drive of the 2nd Q. Tressel believed in this to an extent. Nonetheless, his highly anticipated wait is almost here.
September 30, 201511 yr Not the issue. If he does good the Barker haters(ukfan, John Anthony, plantman) will say he should do good against EKU because they are an FCS school. If he does poorly then the Barker haters(uk fan, John Anthony, plantman) will say he sucks and that he should be kicked off the team and out of school. At the end of the day it's his first start and regardless of how he does I just hope he learns from his experience and grows as a player. Not a Barker hater, just haven't seen anything from him to make me think he's ready to be a team leader…the argument early on was to put Barker in because PT couldn't get it done, and now that argument is over. I want to see what Barker can do on the field, I more want to see him mature off the field and earn the respect that he is going to need when he does step onto the field.

Then you can tell PT and Drew the plan, explain the coach's thought process and eliminate surprises.
September 30, 201511 yr Glad Barker is finally getting a chance. Even if Towles is the primary qb, you need to get your backup reps as often as possible when playing in the power 5 conferences. Unfortunately injuries happen, so it makes more sense than not to be at least two deep at every position if you want to play high level football and win.

October 4, 201511 yr Any time now. Obviously Towles is incapable of being consistent. The only thing he is consistent at is being inconsistent.
October 4, 201511 yr Well with Towles bad game he showed once again why his inconsistency is why we have a time for Barker thread.
October 4, 201511 yr Well with Towles bad game he showed once again why his inconsistency is why we have a time for Barker thread. I'm not sure I would call this a bad game 29/42 329 yds 3 td's 1 rushing TD 2ints. He had about as good of a second half as possible. Definitely inconsistent but not a bad game.
October 5, 201511 yr The ironic thing is that Drew would kill it at EKU. EKU has some big receivers that go after the ball in the air and his scrambling ability would make him a threat at the FCS level.

October 5, 201511 yr A very very nice game in total. The frustration is in the inconsistency between the two halves. I agree 100%. He looked terrible in the first half and great in the 2nd half. For both halves, numbers look pretty good other than interceptions. As I said, not a terrible game but definitely inconsistent.
