October 5, 201511 yr A win is a win is a win. Inconsistent or not...he is getting it done and they are winning. Outside of the Florida loss where they had a couple drops and some ridiculous play calling in the latter part of the 3rd qtr I would say he has done a good enough job to keep his spot. Its not an Andy Dalton type year but its sufficient.
October 5, 201511 yr Bob Barker has a better chance of playing than Drew Barker right now. He'll even bring his models as cheerleaders. No knock on Drew.

October 6, 201511 yr How is that not a knock on Drew? Wow. I didn't take it as s knock. He's simply saying Stoops and Dawson have shown their commitment to the starter. Stoops reiterated that tonight and said Drew will appreciate their approach when Drew becomes the starter. Stoops just needs to quit saying he's going to put him in. Just put him in when the time comes. He'll be ready.
October 6, 201511 yr How is that not a knock on Drew? Wow. You like stirring the pot, don't you? Give me one GOOD reason to change QB's? UK would be crazy to change QB's with their winning record. Sooooo,4-1 is not good enough for you? :lol2:

October 6, 201511 yr I think Drew will appreciate the approach when he is the starter. He gets to sit back and learn both on the field and by observing what PT has to deal with. No doubt in my mind that he will be ready and successful when his time comes.
October 6, 201511 yr Stoops has said that Drew will appreciate the level of support he's showing Pat when he's the starter. I agree completely. The old adage of 'if you're playing two qb's your really don't have one' is accurate here. Pat is the starter because the experts who see them everyday think Pat is the better option.
October 6, 201511 yr I don't disagree with Stoops commitment to stick with one QB. However, I think his handling of the situation has been poor to say the least. He first told Drew that he would see time in the first 3 games. That didn't happen. He then said Drew would play for sure against EKU and that didn't happen either. He then goes on to say in his post-game press conference that he really thought hard about bringing Drew in when Towles was struggling. Then last night on his radio show he says that had they brought Drew in they would have lost the game. Whether or not they would have lost, who knows. What I do know though, is that if I were Drew or his family I would be getting pretty fed up with this stuff. If Drew is not going to play, that's fine. The coaches just need to be straight up with him and stop putting him through these mind games. The only thing it's doing is shaking his confidence.
October 6, 201511 yr Maybe, just maybe, Stoops is trying to keep Drew engaged in this team and focused on his job, not his extra curricular activities that seem to keep his name in the news. Listen, Stoops could have easily put Drew in to start the 3rd quarter and I believe EKU would have won. Pat did a great job in the comeback win. As long as Drew doesn't get a snap this season it would make a transfer more likely for next season.

Not that Barker should play, but at least be straight up with him. I can always tell when a college coach is lying. His lips move. And this doesn't have anymore or less to do with Stoops than any other coach.
