ummm, this is a toughie.....let me think....ummmm, he can't afford the fuel for his helicopter? Yea, that's it. That's the ticket.

Go get em' coach!

Listen, you are the one who in your first post claimed the coaches get sexually aroused by actually wanting to have control over their team. Still scratching my head over that one. You also said they are all jerks and thought only High School Football coaches were jerks. So it is perfectly clear you already have a pre-conceived notion that all football coaches are sexually aroused around boys and are all jerks. Your'e view of reality is way beyond normal and you sound spoiled rotten and someone who is upset because your baby had to wait an extra 45 mins to see her baby. It also sounds like it isn't the coaches problem why this kid is late on Tuesdays and tired, but more because your little baby is keeping him up way too late on Monday Nights.

So don't blame the coaches because of your skewed view of reality. It is clear you hate all coaches and hated them even without meeting the ones you are talking about. That is your problem.

I hope it's true that the kid doesn't have an issue with it and it's only you that has an issue. I hope the kid has a great college experience and doesn't listen to your warped views on what you think is fair and unfair while you are tossing trash on the reputation of coaches you don't even know.

My advice to you is to pick up the phone yourself and actually for once in your life do something yourself instead of expecting everyone to wait on you hand and foot and pick up the phone and ask the coach yourself.

Without question you are a coach. Hilariously funny one too. Pump your chest out and show those boys who is boss at 330! You da man!

@zero, is it possible for you to answer the question of how him having to leave late on Monday morning causes him to get back to campus late on Tuesday and how it makes him tired when he does get back?

Not a coach. Just a dad.

Ok, I've read this whole thread and have a couple points.

1. If the kid isn't upset about it, then why do you feel the need to be upset about it and whine on a public forum?

2. The player involved needs to get his priorities straight. Cut the cord/apron strings already, put the long distance relationship on hold or move home. I for one would want my daughters to date someone who had his priorities straight and did his job, which should be focusing on school and football.

3. I agree with previous post, not all coaches are tools. Just because this kid didn't get his way, doesn't make his coaches tools.

4. My son also played college football at a NAIA school in KY, until he tore his shoulder up for the 2nd time ending his football career. He was 3 &1/2 hours a way and only came home on holidays & extended weekends. His coaches had curfews for the players and did bed checks nightly. During the season, They could leave campus on Saturdays but had to be back in time for team breakfast on Mondays. Could there be curfew issues here? As a freshmen players are low on the totem pole, eveything isn't necessarily first come, first serve. Although my son's high school coach always told them if your on time for practice, then your late, because he always expected every player to be early, ie. Practice starts at 3:15, they're expected to be dressed and on the field by 3:00.

5. Please answer the questions posed by others posters. What does him leaving 45 minutes later have to do with him getting back late in Mondays and being tired? Until that's answered, I say we just move on.

Do you really believe all football coaches are tools?? That's painting a pretty broad brush on a group of people that spend large amounts of their time helping more kids than you can count.

Sad isn't it?

At first she just thought it was all High School coaches, but now it's all coaches.

Would also love to hear what this kids parents have to say about this issue? Maybe they could shine some light on the matter. Are they as upset as you are about this? Or are they wondering why they're paying for their son to go to college to play football and he's more concerned about coming home every week. Or is he on scholarship.?

Being completely honest I have a hard time believing this is a parent posting this.

Both my parents and my girlfriends parents told me I needed to stay and focus on school when I went away to college instead of encouraging me to come back for the weekends. I wasn't a college athlete and only went to a school an hour and a half away.

I find it hard to believe a parent would encourage a freshman in college to come home the 1 day they have off every week instead of using that time to focus on school.

Either this is the "daughter" posting, which would explain why the question isn't being answered. OR we have a parent who needs to focus on the real issue here which is to remove yourself from your child's relationship and encourage this young man to focus on the things that are important such as the education he is trying to receive and the sport that may be paying for that education.

My guess is that the coaches know he is going home. Reason isnt important, unless the player gives them an important one. Even though Monday is an off day, Im sure it really isn't. They expect the player to make sure all their duties ( studies, laundry, the basic things college students need to do on a daily or weekly need)that they need to do are done that day. I am also sure they expect scouting reports to be gone over and learned before tuesdays practice. When in season at college level coaches expect priorities to be 1. Team/classes 2. everything else! and often classes are bunched with this . and its a very distant 2.

I too am interested in hearing how being the last one seen makes him tired and late on Tuesday. Will you answer that @zero?

This may be the first, or second sensible answer I have received. I appreciate your response because it makes sense and is to the point of the question that I asked.

Thank you and I agree.

It's a long list of a lot of sensible answers you've been given. You just chose to ignore the others because it wasn't what you wanted to hear.

Now again, please answer the questions you keep avoiding.

I will answer the question for you so you don't have to bother because we all know the answer.

The reason he is tired and late at getting back to school every tuesday has nothing to do with getting out of the team meeting 45 mins later than if he would go first but it has everything to do with him staying up way too late on Monday night hanging out with my daughter as well as not getting up in time early Tuesday Morning for the long drive back. That is why he is tired and late on Tuesdays.

Hope that helped bail you out zero.

These are all good points and could be correct. If so, why would they not approach him and say, 'look man, we know what you are up to and it's not a good idea'. Shoot, maybe he thinks he is playing by the rules. Wouldn't this approach be better than playing 'I'm the king' game?

In a word, no. College is much different than high school. Coaches are not going to baby him. If he wants to leave every week, and the coaches do not like that idea, he either needs to quit playing football or sacrifice coming home every week and commit to the program. Why couldn't someone come visit him on Monday so that he isn't going home every week.
