This may be the first, or second sensible answer I have received. I appreciate your response because it makes sense and is to the point of the question that I asked.

Thank you and I agree.

Why do you refuse to answer simple questions posed to you?

Why start a thread asking for opinions if all your going to do is criticize and belittle those who's opinions you don't agree with?

I'll ask again, how does leaving a little late on Monday morning cause him to be tired and late getting back on Tuesday?

Also, again, why can't your daughter go visit him on Mondays if the travel is causing him to be tired and late on Tuesdays? Wouldn't that be a simple easy solution that would solve all the issues and allow everyone to "win"?

It's a long list of a lot of sensible answers you've been given. You just chose to ignore the others because it wasn't what you wanted to hear.

Now again, please answer the questions you keep avoiding.

Okay. This is my last post. Again, for you and others, please read this analogy slowly. It may be difficult for you to understand.

Let's pretend that you work. Don't get annoyed, we are pretending, remember?

Let's say you have a 3 meetings during your work day. Each meeting is 1 hour long. There is one at 1 o'clock, one at 2 o'clock, and the final at 3 o'clock. Are ya with me?

Let's say something happens at work and you are 20 minutes late for the 1 o'clock meeting; however, you still have to stay for the entire hour. I understand that this work thing may be a hard concept, but stay with me. So now you are 20 minutes late for your 2:00 meeting. You will be late for your 3:00 meeting. It is almost a trickle down effect (it that is something ya'll can understand?).

Does that make sense? I understand it is a very hard concept, but things like this happen every day in the real world.

So now, try to relate the above pretend story to what I wrote. It will be very very difficult for some of you to understand, I get that. But hey, I'm trying. If you don't get it, just go with the helicopter response. Either is really fine with me.

Remember fellas, this is my last post. So, beat on me as you wish. I'll just sit back and laugh at ya'll.

That analogy doesn't work...

Say 3pm is the time grades are discussed. Little boy doesn't get seen until 3:45. Leaves at 3:50.

That has absolutely no bearing on when he leaves your house (I'm assuming that's where he is to visit your daughter). Just because I get stuck at work until 5:30 doesn't mean I don't show up until 8:30 the next day. I just cut 30 minutes out of another part of my night.

So I'm sorry if little boy feels entitled to spend x amount of time at home but that's not how life works. If he's 45 minutes late getting back home, cut the hangout time down by 45 minutes.

And stop making excuses for the kid that can't manage his time or wake up on time.

Your condensending posts is all we need to know about you. I get it, you are a stay at home mom who hasn't had to lift her finger a day in her life. It's all good though, youhave the rest of us to work so you can eat your bon bons and watch the View.

Now, try and keep up. I know it's tough. Let's pretend he had 3 meetings on Monday, which he didn't. You already explained he only had the 1 meeting in the morning so sure glad you went to all that trouble with the 3 meeting scenerio :ohbrother:

But lets say he had 3 meetings on Monday. He was late for one (probably because your daughter kept him up too late again) so he had to still stay for an hour and then he had 2 other meetings which in real life would still start at the same times they were scheduled for if you ever worked a day in your life you would understand that 1 meeting that is separate from the other meetings has nothing to do with running late because you showed up late. But I digress.

So to make your long story short, he had to stay after 20 mins later on the 3rd meeting. Your trickle down effect. So again what does that have to do with him being late in the morning????????

I have worked overtime a ton of times and not once did it cause me to be late the next morning. Your scenerio makes zero sense...pun intended.

IF being late to leave by 45 minutes Monday morning cuases him to be late getting back to school Tuesday morning, then he has more issues than can be solved by anyone here. I would really hate to have to go somewhere with you if it took you 5 etra minutes because you couldn't get your orange juice bottle open in the morning which caused everything else in your day to be pushed back 5 mins. Just think because of that one stuck bottle cap you ended up being late to pick up your daughter at the airport 14 hours later. The horror.

Seriously zero. your excuse for him being late to school Tuesday morning is because he got out of his Monday morning meeting 30 minutes later than a week ago? That is sad. Some one needs to teach you and him time management.

Last question. I would bet you have spent the majority of your time either in the soccer or volleyball forums on here. Am I correct?

Thank you Zero. Seriously thank you. This thread has made my day. This is fun.

Very fun! All the blood pressures up over a fictional story. I love it! I knew it would get all you clowns worked up!

And once again, you failed to answer the question many have asked. Your fictional story proves that you and the boy are bad at time management if you all are letting one event affected an unrelated event.

You can laugh all you want but @GreyFox and I blew your excuse out of the water with little effort.

Another question if I may.....does this kid even know his girlfriend's mom is on here whining about this? I'm going to say no. And how embarrassing would that be for him? I mean we know what school she represents on here, wouldn't be to hard to figure out every kid is playing as a freshmen for a school 2 & 1/2 hours away from here, and what school he's playing for and therefore what coaches she's calling TOOLS. Like I said, how embarrassing for him! And as for the parents of this kid, if it were me, I'd be pretty peed off if my son's girlfriends mom got on a public forum complaining and whining about something, which technically is none of her business or concern!

So I'm getting I leave an hour late to go home which means I stay for an extra hour instead of leaving at my normal time. In turn make me get back to campus that much later, which then leaves me tired on Tuesday DUH!

This may not belong in this High School football thread' date=' I'm sure someone will tell me if it doesn't. Anyway, here goes. My daughters boyfriend played in NK last year and this year is playing college football. On Monday's, they do not have practice, all they have to do is show up at a certain time to have their grades checked. This young man, likes to come home on Monday's after grade check. It's a pretty long drive. So, he shows up 15 minutes early so that he can get this done and get on the road. The coaches notice that he is early and therefore, make him wait to be the last one to have his grades checked. This in return makes him much later to get home, much later to get back to school. More tired for football the next day. With all that being said, can someone answer me why football coaches have to be such as.....jerks? What does letting that kid know that you are in control do for them? Is there self estem / ego so low that they get some kind of comfort from this? I just don't get it. I use the think that only High School coaches were jerks, thinking I was wrong. I guess it is football coaches in general. Please help me understand. Does treating kids like crap make them sexually aroused or what? I don't get it![/quote']

I can't believe this thread has gotten as long as it has but I'd like to make a couple of points. First, my daughter is on scholarship to play soccer at a D2 school. Like many others have said on here about football she has very little free time outside of practice, training, games and academic responsibilities. She too has an "off day" that in many ways is not solely her free time. It is usually spent catching up or working ahead on academic responsibilities or other team activities such as volunteer work in community. And yes those are activities the coach schedules for them and they are expected to participate in. As a college athlete, especially one on scholarship, this is a way of life during the season. You either adjust to the demands or you move on. Hence one of the reasons why you see far more freshmen on a roster than upper class men.

Second, I notice you keep referring to this young man as a "kid". I'm assuming he's at least 18 if not 19 years old now and should be thought of and treated as a man. My daughter's coaches were very clear with their message in the first meeting and that was each player will be treated as an adult and if they have an issue they need to address the issue directly with a coach. If this young man is just showing up early and not telling them why then they may be perceiving his actions as less than genuine. It's not their place to clear the issue with him it's his responsibility to make sure they understand why.

One last word of advice. Many of the people on this site, especially in the football forum are very willing to help others and for the most part are very genuine in their responses unless they feel the persons asking for help are being unappreciative of their time or are acting disrespectful. Understand that many of us on this site have either been a football coach or have been very positively influenced in our lives by football coaches so when you make such derogatory remarks about football coaches as you did in the first and subsequent posts you're not going to get a very good reaction.

My best wishes to this young man in adjusting to his new life as a collegiate athlete. His career in that regard depends on it.

if it were me, I'd be pretty peed off if my son's girlfriends mom got on a public forum complaining and whining about something, which technically is none of her business or concern!

Says it all right there.
