Notre Dame 34 Virginia 27

Holy crap, was that hard to watch. Zaire's injury, the 2nd half Irish defense, all of it. Thank goodness for Will Fuller.

Won the battle, lost the war. They're in trouble with Zaire done for the year.

UVA is the KY of the ACC. Snatching defeat from victory.

Depends. If Kizer can play like he did in the last minute or so the rest of the season who knows. Right now I'm more concerned with how the defense played today.

8 for 12, 1 Touchdown. Great start in a tough spot

Kelly called an awful game and the d was on the field WAY to much. Why he refused to rush for 350 yards today is head scratching. That being said, this young guy has an absolute cannon. It will be interesting to see how the next game goes

Actually it was 2 TD.

Stinks to see the Irish having key injuries so early in the season. Already lost the starting QB & RB for the season. Last year it was the defense. Hopefully they can avoid any more significant injuries the rest of the way.

Irish curse of injuries last 3 years is a joke now. Defense fell apart after Zaire injury. They have plenty of talent hopefully the defense regroups now and carries the team as it should.

This was the type of game that ND should have lost. Zaire looked really bad passing. Virginia was getting all of the bounces. As soon as that deflected pass was caught in the 1st quarter, I knew that it was going to be a long day.

Now, maybe Kelly will remember that he has 2 stud backs and start letting them run.

From watching Prosise run, you'd never guess that he's a converted WR that was recruited as a safety. He looks like a natural RB. The freshman, Josh Adams, is 6'2" and about 220lbs. With the horses they've got upfront on the OL, I'd commit to the run for at least the next few games, if not the season, just to allow Kizer time to get comfortable.

What an entertaining college football game. I like ND but I am not married to them and I really enjoyed the game.

Feel for Zaire...while he struggled passing today, he still was very effective on the ground, and was poised for a huge year.

I think Kizer will be ready to go for GT...and it should be a very interesting game.

On a side note...almost feel for UVa fans. That was a great chance for a big, big win for their program. But great job by Kizer to bring the Irish back for the win.

Man I'm still disappointed about Malik... I just liked that kid a lot and seemed like a great competitor. Not sure where they go from here.

Kizer seems to have all the tools. I've watched that throw 10 times and it's amazing especially factoring in everything. Will Fuller is a STUD too, BTW. Saw a stat that BK is 15-1 at ND when starting Freshman QB's. 5-5 on that last drive (including the 2-point conversion) while down and on the road tells me Kizer isn't afraid of the moment. GT, at Clemson, and USC within the next month. Good luck young fella.
