September 14, 201511 yr The blurb I heard on the radio this morning said the state considers them valid. That was all they mentioned. That should settle it. Legally recognized in the state they were issued.
September 14, 201511 yr You shouldn't should on yourself. The fact that you want so bad for this to be harrassment or eliminated proves you really don't understand it. There is no law against it, only a law that supports it. The 9 justices would have a hard time arguing against free speech. No one has broken any law, that's the point. Just because you want it to be so, doesn't make it so. I am not hurt, as feelings do not enter into it. Only facts, and the facts are this: The First Amendment protects speech, irrespective of where it occurs, unless it is damaging. Wishing it away won't ever make it so. I would laugh at your recent posts in this thread if it wasn't so sad, as well as your sad attempt to assume that my knowledge concerning this is lacking. But if you want to continue to show your ignorance. Can you go into a bank and say "I have a gun"? Can you be in an airplane and yell "hijack"? No, as the First Amendment does have limits, and there are limits at the courthouse as well. Freedom of speech does have it's limits, such as in this case about the guy who was "preaching" inside of the courthouse. The First Amendment does not give you the right to free speech on government property anytime, or anywhere you like, there are limits, which is LAW. A courthouse, as well as the courthouse property is NOT a public forum, therefore you do not have the right to exercise free speech there, The is LAW. The "county in this case, has the duty to control the property to be used only as it was intended, this too is the LAW. Also, just because it is government property, that does not give you the right to free access to it. The courthouse is not a public forum and any outburst or disruptions in grounds for removal and or arrest. This also extends to anywhere on the courthouse grounds, if they were on the sidewalk protesting? That is possible, but not on the courthouse property. All of this is the LAW. ALL of what I have posted IS fact, and IS law. And YES, the so-called "preacher" is in violation, no matter how bad you want it not to be. Please, look this all up, since you have no knowledge on this issue. Also, why not take me up on my suggestion? Go down to your courthouse, inside, and start "preaching" at people. Heck, if you don't at least get escorted out, I'll buy you a dinner at Jeff Ruby's. But we all know you won't take me up on this, as you know that you will be escorted out of the building, at least. As you have said "wishing it away won't ever make it so". So, if you want to continue dreaming that you are right (you are wrong), do as you please.
September 14, 201511 yr The guy "preaching" has no business inside the building, he is being disruptive. it IS because of actions like his that people are angry about religion. Preaching to the choir, brother.
September 14, 201511 yr I have a question does the supreme court make laws or rulings? It doesn't really matter because President Huckabee reminded us that we can ignore whatever they say if we don't like the message.
September 14, 201511 yr Then go down to your courthouse and start "preaching" INSIDE and see how fast that you are escorted out of there for disruption. No, YOU are the one who is blind, as you continue to prove. They can stay outside and protest all they want, but that right should not continue inside, as that is harassment. So, nice try attempting to label me and others and just jump at a chance to get even since you are so hurt. Maybe next time. If you are right( and you seldom are only in your own mind) it looks like the police there are with her.
September 14, 201511 yr If you are right( and you seldom are only in your own mind) it looks like the police there are with her. No, I am correct, and I am often correct, just because many people on this site has successfully called you out for your opinions that you in your mind think is fact doesn't mean that you are correct, as are the one who is rarely correct, as you continue to prove. If you two want to continue to play make believe and show your ignorance then go at it. I asked a simple question, and then someone is so wanting to call people hypocrites that he blindly types away while he has no knowledge of what he is talking about, nor does he take the time to look up the facts before he looks like a fool, something that you two have in common. It doesn't matter what the deputy was doing or not doing. The facts are that the law states that a courthouse and it's property are not public forum, therefore they cannot be used for freedom of speech or expression. Your little smiley just proves how much you cry out to be correct, as it doesn't matter that that deputy is doing, the law is the law. It's funny how a couple of weeks ago you were so butt hurt, now you want to quote me after your cries to leave you alone and block you? LOL, classic! Next, maybe you two want to attempt to call someone out, you may want to do a little research and get the facts so you don't look so ignorant. Here is a start: 385 US 39, 47 (1967 Page 385 (47 and 48) https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/385/39/case.html
September 14, 201511 yr It doesn't really matter because President Huckabee reminded us that we can ignore whatever they say if we don't like the message. It matters! Does the State law over see the Federal Law?
September 14, 201511 yr But back to the topic, which is Kim Davis, hopefully she will fade away and everyone can get back to more important issues.
September 14, 201511 yr Sportsguy41017 I know more about you than you think I do. I cant help that a lot want to call you a hypocrite, that's not what my comment was. My comment pointed out that you are a legend in your own mind and that it appears that if you are right, the police there in Morehead don't share your opinion( more don't share it, they just choose not to wallow in the mud with you).
September 14, 201511 yr It matters! Does the State law over see the Federal Law? Federal law trumps state law. And the SCOTUS didn't make a new law. They simply ruled that a portion of the law on the books was discriminatory and not valid.
September 14, 201511 yr Sportsguy41017 I know more about you than you think I do. Umm, isn't that a bit creepy? :lol2:
September 14, 201511 yr Like many, I wish she would just ride off into the sunset. Don't know if her handlers will allow that, however.
September 14, 201511 yr Umm, creepy? :lol2: Go back and read his posts.......all of them. Also not everyone is going to agree. This is one topic that has divided a lot of people. When you speak like you are the only one that's right, no matter who you are, people are not going to like you.

When you speak like you are the only one that's right, no matter who you are, people are not going to like you. I like Sportsguy and tend to agree with pretty much everything he's posted in here. I even like you and I don't think there's a shred of anything that we see eye to eye on. :lol2:
