Saying goodbye forever is a very hard part of life. Hope he goes peacefull with lots of family around.

You got them. I hope that you are able to express everything that you've ever wanted to express to him.

Sorry , hope this last bit of time is peaceful for you and him .

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family. May you feel God's presence as a source of strength, comfort & peace that passes all understanding.

Prayers....travel safely.

Prayers go along with you my brother from another mother.

He is in good hands. Hospice is wonderful. I can not speak highly enough of what they do and how much comfort to the patient and family they do. They are literally living saints.

How they continue to do their job day after day growing so close to their patients and families knowing the end is near is incredible.

Bless you and your family Big.

I am so sorry to hear this, I treasure my last few days with my Pop as I'm sure you will your time with your dad. Prayers with you my friend.

So I spent last week in NC spending time with mom and dad, visiting dad at the Hospice facility in Greensboro. He's very weak and feeble, sometimes talks crazy/out of his head, other times seems fairly lucid. Can't walk on his own, needs help with everything...I did things to help him that I have never done before for someone, nor dream that I would do. Very very hard to see a parent like this, or any loved one for that matter.

Right now they have him classified as "stable", meaning he hasn't gotten worse since he was admitted a week ago Monday. That doesn't' mean he isn't in bad shape, just that his condition hasn't progressively worsened the past week.

If he remains "stable" as they determine it, he will have to be moved from the current location location by this Monday to another location. If so, it will be a little harder on my mom driving back and forth to the care facility as the 2nd location is farther away. He will be able to stay longer at this location though, even if classified as "stable". Just going to more inconvenient for my mom.
