Looks like they can still play Middle School ball as long as they are playing at the frosh level only:

Any player that participates for any reason at the high school junior varsity or varsity level in basketball is automatically ineligible for the NKMSAA regular season league games, as well as NKMSAA post-season tournament. Middle school students that play freshmen basketball must complete and adhere to the NKMSAA

Surely an AD or coaches wouldn't move players up but then at tournament time bring them back down to play.

I cannot pretend to know their situation completely but I also cannot see how doing that would be because of the benefit of those 2 players instead of the 8th grade team and coaches.

 

But I would have to think anybody stating it is a possibility of happening is speculation as well.

So is Beechwood still the favorite in the Small Division even with losing all of that scoring?

 

I believe so They had beaten Newport, Bracken, Tichenor and RA pretty easily...

 

I think this makes a match up between Beechwood and a crazy athletic team like Tichenor or Newport more interesting though, but only if one of those teams got hot...

 

I would also think they would stay up at the Frosh level same way that the Kid from Sharp did when he played up for Pendleton Cty.

Has anyone seen the 7th grade kid at Holmes (Callaway?) ?

 

Was told he had a 50 PT game then followed that up by scoring 32.

Does he go by "Tez", or is Tez his name. I heard the same about a 50 point game from a Holmes kid that goes that name. He is very good. Big, and strong.

At 6'1, he isn't your typical kid that has simply matured quicker than everyone else and just bullies his was to the rim...this kid is apparantly taking three or four steps across half court and hitting threes with consistency. (From what I've been told)

 

Think I might stop down Holmes tomorrow morning at 10 to try to see this kid for myself.

At 6'1, he isn't your typical kid that has simply matured quicker than everyone else and just bullies his was to the rim...this kid is apparantly taking three or four steps across half court and hitting threes with consistency. (From what I've been told)

Saw him today against Twenhofel (Holmes lost 43-38) and he finished with 19 pts, which was apparently a bad game for him. Kid is very talented. Hits 3's, mid range jumpers, and is very athletic around the rim...BUT, has a serious attitude problem. He has the ability to be a very good player but will have to work on his on court demeanor.

 

As far as his game goes...Holmes' score keeper (who has been at every game) told me that he scored 50 points in one game then turned around and scored 58 in the next game followed by a 25 point game and then a 32 point game. Kid is obviously more physically developed than a lot of kids his age but they were telling me he also hits deep 3's regularly when I asked if he dominated because of his size and strength.

 

Tez Callaway is his name...has a twin brother as well.
