Was the 7th game competitive?

Woodland led at half lost by 7? I think there was 2 technicals late.

Great 7th grade game. Very talented teams. Woodlawn up 7 at half - tied end of 3rd quarter - and Highlands up about 8 when the technicals were called on the Woodlawn coach. The second and final T came with one min. left in game - game was over. The first was earned early second half I believe. Highlands has all the pieces including an emerging center...a long athletic 5. (Ike Sector) He hasn't played alot of hoops, but is athletic, (impressive TE on football field last season) and yes, a very, very tall coordinated 5 - which frees up Hergott, Buten & Vincent to go do what they do. They now have the all the pieces for a school team for sure...and they have a second group of athletes - talented kids...they really do need an A team and B team to be fair to those great hoopsters and families at this young age..they all deserve PT.

Any word on how the tournaments will be laid out. I thought how the small division did it last year with all the Championships at Sharp on 1 Saturday was great! Kept tons of fans their all day and made it easy for schools that had 2 teams there. So I'd hope it will be the same setup?

Wonder if their is anyway they could move it from Sharp to Campbell county this year though....

SVA at Twenhofel

HMS vs Woodland

6th: ?

7th: HMS by 12

8th: HMS by 20+

7th was a great game. Final score doesn't tell the story for sure. HMS was up early on them, maybe 12-6, Woodland battled back and had HMS down by almost 10 at one point? HMS just wouldn't go away and ended up taking the lead in the 4th. Game was close until maybe 2:00 mins left and HMS got a little bigger lead and they were up 8 with about 30 secs left when an intentional foul was called and then the coach got his 2nd T and got thrown out. 4 FT's later and getting the ball back and it was over. What a great game.

Where was this game played? Somewhat rare that a coach would get thrown out in a close game like that.

It was at Woodland.

For the first half.

Yes.

Yes.

Tell me about the 7th grade

game.

It would be a shame not to mention the BSac 8th grade team on this thread. While they don't play in the middle school league because (as I understand it) they don't field an 'A' team in the 6th grade and that is a requirement, they have dominated the CCH 8th grade league with very good defense and the offensive talents of Jay Jackson and Grant Disken. They started the season by winning the St. Henry tournament (had to go through Beechwood to win that one). They won the Cardinal Pacelli tournament which ended last weekend and they won their first game in the Our Lady of Victory tournament. They have only lost 1 game all year. Kudos to the Eagles!
