I believe the Judge is trying to get the NFL to go for the deal where Brady is suspended 1 game for not fully cooperating and zero games for the Deflategate conspiracy.

Not at all. But here's how the court of public opinion works.

 

He's a murderer. He was a great running back, but he's a murderer.

He juiced. He was a great baseball player, but he juiced.

He doped. He won all those Tours, but he doped.

He cold-cocked his fiancee. He was a good running back, but he cold-cocked his fiancee.

 

Here's another.

 

He bet on baseball. He's the all-time hit king, but he bet on baseball.

However, I hope Brady rolls the dice for all or nothing, if Brady wins it will make the NFL better and I would rather see the integrity of the NFL improve than one player be punished based on piecemeal evidence. In other words, if anyone gives you the argument that the integrity of the game is most important issue then we should all be rooting for Brady to win.

Adam Schefter speculated on Mike and Mike this morning that if the NFL loses this case that some heads in the NFL offices may roll. Including Goodell's. Just speculation on his part but he said if the NFL ends up 0 for their last 5 against federal judges that it could be the final straw.

No matter what happens I hope the players union wakes up after all of this come negotiations time for the next CBA. Only one team was disagreeable to the last CBA. That was the Steelers. R. Clark was the Steeler rep. Google what he said about why they didn't sign it and it's pretty spot on

But Goodell is just enforcing the will of ownership. But then again, if you can put out the face of your league as a fall guy, then you can put out a Commissioner that is just enforcing your will!
