Pure Prospects Top 33 2017 Class

Featured Replies

Jake Duby not a top 60 in 2017 class? 6'3" SG, 24.1 ppg, 51.8 fg%, 41.4% 3pt fg%, 82.8 ft%, 7.2 rpg. Draws opponents best defenders and is boxed, face guarded and chased all over the floor night in and night out. I know it's not all about stats and I am not knocking anyone on the list, but how many on that list have those numbers?

That may be a result of the person doing the rankings not seeing Jake Duby play. I have seen him play and agree that he is a quality player. But I have seen less than half the players on the list, so I don't feel comfortable trying to rank him vs. the other players (I actually wouldn't be comfortable trying to do that even if I had seen everyone on the list). Plus, I think some would discount his numbers based on the fact that he plays at Sayre and the level of some of the competition they play.

One flaw I see is, no disrespect to Jeryd Jones but how is this player honerable mention in the 10th region and ranked 19th while Austin Crawford ranked one of the best in the 10th 39th on the list.

Who does Crawford play AAU for? Jones I'm pretty sure is on Hoop Dreams, I'd say Jones is a better college prospect then Crawford.

I'll go out on a limb and bet the person doing these rankings probably hasn't seen 25-30 of these kids.

NKY gets a little slighted. IMO - no way there are 50 better players in the state than Hawkins (SK) or Meyer (Dixie).

I'm gonna second this motion.

I live in Louisville and child plays for a small school here. I have seen a lot of high school games, big and small. I went to Sayre, so I follow them. Henry Clay, Scott Co, Bryan Station, Tates Creek, Anderson, Woodford, Boyle, Paris, LaRue, Nelson, Beechwood. Compared to other small schools, no one plays a tougher schedule. I watch many games a year with my son. Jake Duby, no doubt, deserves to be on that list. But I would assume ultimatley not too many college coaches are paying attention to it anyway. As stated previously, its just someones opinion.

Jake Duby can flat out play. I really enjoyed watching him play the one time was fortunate to see him play.

Wish he played at a better basketball school. I think his college opportunities would improve.

I would also say that the colleges that some of these kids attend will not ask Pure Propects opinion either.

Chris Vogt from Graves got an offer from APSU.

Southern Illinois offered Vogt a couple days ago.

ETSU offered both Bradshaw and Hollowell.

Indiana State offered.

How is Luke Johnson from Lex Cath not on this list? There certainly not 33 players better than him. And Hollingsworth at 17? Wow. Disagree whole heartedly with order but not a terrible list.

Didn't see updated rankings. A little better.
