Pioneer.Pride
intentionally leaked DISINFORMATION to ESPN. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/patriots--fight-with-nfl-gets-nastier-with-release-of-emails-005610492.html Meanwhile, federal judge urges both sides to reach a settlement prior to 8/19 hearing. Somehow, I think this one is going to court!
Jumper_Dad
If all of that is true then why was the NFL even investigating, why were they going after their flagship franchise so to speak? There are still a lot of holes to this story from both sides and none of it makes sense.

Kraft thought he had an agreement with Goodell that by accepting the draft pick forfeitures Brady's suspension would be reduced or eliminated. In Kraft's view, Goodell and the league broke that agreement. Hence, you now have open warfare.

In Kraft's view, Goodell and the league broke that agreement. Hence, you now have open warfare. That still doesn't explain why the NFL was targeting the Pats to begin with. If emails are saying that the balls were really not that far off, why would the NFL even go after the Pats? Should have just said we checked, balls were good, that's it...finished. Wireman
Goodell is a moron. And a jerk. I hope he goes down in flames over this stupid incident that should have been wrapped up months ago with a fine.

Many owners have not forgotten spy gate. That, plus the frustration of not being able to beat the Pats in the playoffs resulted in some owners pressuring the league office on this issue. Could not beat them on the field, so this is what they resort to.
ggclfan
...and people wonder why Brady does not want Goodell and Wells to have his phone. The league office is the perfect combination of incompetence and arrogance. I used to like Goodell. Then I thought he was merely incompetent. Now I think he is just a bad person. I love that Kraft is not taking the high road any longer...Love it!!!! Brady shows up for his hearing and is given 4 hours to rebut the Wells debacle and I heard the NFL had 36 lawyers in the room?!?!? 36!!! It is easy to see why the Pats believe they have been railroaded from day one on this deal.

Pretty sure there's a team in Black'n'Gold with 6 Super Bowls and the biggest fanbase in the league that's actually the NFL's flagship franchise, but anyway. LIPTON BASH
Ok I'll be the neutral parry to say the obvious. Bad move by the Patriots you don't attack someone or something that is bigger than you. Bad move. .
