MLB Trade Deadline

We got screwed in this deal IMO

It's a good deal IMO. If the Reds traded him last season the return would have been huge. This is a solid return for a rental.

Might have exaggerated a little. But I still don't think this is a great trade. We need position players

I'm excited about Finnegan and Lamb. Lamb has had a good AAA season this year and was once a big time prospect. Finnegan could be a stud if he figures out his control

Wrong Cody Reed...

How many LHP Cody Reed are there? Good grief

So they don't get Manea but they still get a potential number 3 starter or better in Finnegan and a lefty at that. Worst case scenario is he becomes the next closer possibly. And in Lamb they get a very high upside guy that is said to be impressing this year and based on his Numbers that seems to be true. He is striking out more than a batter an inning and has an era under 3. He's a tall lefty similar to Manea but probably with a better polished arsenal of pitches and a little older. Was once the 11th best prospect in baseball before getting injured. His time coming when is fastball was sitting in the mid 80's be apparently really developed a nice change up and curveball. Now that his FB velocity is back to his top prospect days touching 96 and sitting around 93 his arsenal could be devastating. He hasn't started throwing his slider yet in games but has been working on that on the side. He still just turned 25 and will almost certainly step right in for Cueto in the rotation for the remaining of the year allowing us to see very quickly what might have been the steal in this trade.

So to recap the Reds get the Royals best and healthiest pitching prospect and a lefty with big league experience, he was the #55 prospect after the 2014 season. They get Lamb who was once ranked as high as #11 and most think he has regained that form, amd Cody Reed the Royals #16 prospect who is having a nice year and another lefty. Reed was a second rounder of the Diamonbacks last season. He is destroying competition in A ball right now.

Would've been nice to get a bat but I suspect that's what the Reds will shoot for in the Leake and Chapman trades. Very good deal by the Reds IMO.

After reading about it more, it seems like the Reds made out like a bandit for a rental player. Not many rentals return 3 top pitching prospects.

For what its work, Rockies radio team is reporting the reds are telling them no deal yet for Cueto.

What a mess.

This is a mess

Did you expect this to happen any differently?

What is a mess is the media. Rumors are not final stories

Here we go...

@chrisCotillo: The Reds' sale has started. Chapman, Leake, Bruce, others on the block now.

3 young left handed arms for one so to be over priced right handed arm.

The more I am reading the more I like this deal. Sounds like Reed is vastly underrated and I am excited to see Finnegan
