Papelbon can veto the trade to the Nats per his contract. He has to get an assurance from the Nats that he will be the closer. Storen currently has that role.
July 28, 201511 yr Reports are a deal with the D-Backs would include Major League pieces. Looking at their Roster Yasmany Tomas, Chris Owings or Jake Lamb could be a possibility from the Big Club. I'd be very interested in Brandon Drury or Socrates Bito as well who are on their 40 man. At the top of my list would definitely be Yasmany Tomas though but he's paid a fortune and They aren't giving him up. Socrates Bito and or Brandon Drury I would love to have.

July 28, 201511 yr Hate to see Byrd go. He could be a great influence on these younger guys coming in. If you trade Chapman for bats, where are they going to play, CF? Who do you sit? Bruce is on a tear. Byrd is doing ok and recovering from a slow start. Suarez may unseat Cozart next season. Frazier is a star. Phillips and Votto make too much $ to sit. Barnhart and Pena are keeping the seat warm for Meso. I'm a big Cespedes fan and wanted the Reds to trade Chapman for him last year (I'm an idiot). At this point, I'd rather have Byrd and Bruce.
