July 26, 201511 yr Reds get a 1-17 (2014) pick who is 22 and has already made it to the bigs, a 2-44 (2013) pick who is 22 and currently at AA and a 5-145 (2008) pick who is at AAA and 25 years of age. Imo for a rental they got pretty good value. It will remain to be seen how it all pans out. You can never have enough good left handed pitching. Maybe more trades are in the works and could involve some of these players. If I were them I wouldn't pack my bags and send them anywhere just yet.

I really wasn't expected to acquire 3 prospects that all are basicall top 150 type talents with Lamb and Finnegan possessing top 50 talents at one point in time. All lefties that's unheard of. Noted before season CIN doesn't mind taking what some teams call RP & trying to make SP (BFinnegan): AChapman, NHoward, MLorenzen, RIglesias. Much like Nottingham in the Kazmir trade, new Reds LHP Cody Reed is significantly better than preseason reports: velo/slider/cmd all better. Scout I just talked to said Cody Reed is in 100-150 range for him in a minor league-wide list. He just missed my Royals Top 28 before season

July 26, 201511 yr Absolutely a great haul for the Reds. Would've loved to have gotten a bat like Starling, but Lamb and Finnegan are pretty much MLB ready and Reed is very promising.

At least swing for the fences and try to make a home run. But they settled with probably the best deal possibly they could get.
