July 16, 201511 yr I say play them both and see who looks the best each week in practice. They're both good QB's with a lot of potential. It's a good problem to have.
July 16, 201511 yr Ive said neither from day one, but if I have to choose between the two, I pick Towles. Barker cant stay out of trouble long enough to be on the field so you cant start off counting on him yet.

July 16, 201511 yr Swore I would never post again, but this is ridiculous! Barker? Really? Ridiculous why? Because Uk offense was great last year? Ridiculous because Towles got better as the year went? Ridiculous because teams couldn't figure out how to stop him after seeing a few games on film? There is nothing ridiculous to having a qb competition when your offense wasn't good, your qb was inconsistent and got worst as the year went on as teams saw more film on him. Towles looked great early. But let's not forget it took him until his third year to start. This was after Stoops red shirted him like he did Barker last year. I do think Towles will get the nod, but nothing ridiculous about trying Barker if Towles shows to still be inconsistent.

July 16, 201511 yr Barker. Towles regressed as the season went on last year IMO. Entire team broke down from injuries and lack of depth, he really didn't have a lot of weapons to go to as the season wore on. That said let them battle it out, if Barker beats him fine. But I wouldn't give it or hand it to Barker...dude as done less than zero to earn it at this point.
