July 16, 201511 yr Who will it be? Towles. Who do I want? Probably Barker I think Barker has a lot more swagger and such, and has more of a gun slinger feel about him. I'd love to see him get some good throws in the first game just to see what he could do. Towles frequently made me question his decision making ability. And it seemed too often that he just never had a physically strong grasp on the ball. I trust Stoops and Dawson to make the best choice, regardless of off the field anything. They know that they really need a bowl game to keep any prayer of momentum going.

July 16, 201511 yr What has Barker done to earn the starting spot? I think Towles has shown the ceiling of what he can do. I think if it's really an open competition that Barker will beat him out. If he can't, than I think Kentucky football is in a lot worse shape than most think. JMO.

Both guys will play and whomever emerges as the guy who can help this team get to a bowl is the guy they will go with. I think playing both will put them both under pressure which is what you want. If Towles has been as bad as some would lead us to believe, what does that say about Barker? I think last season it was decided that no matter what, save injuries, Barker was going to redshirt. I think Barker will out perform Towles in practice and be the starter. If he can't, I think it says a lot about both, and not in a good way.

July 16, 201511 yr Barker. Towles regressed as the season went on last year IMO. He regressed after the Mizzou loss b/c he had about 1 sec to release the ball. It didn't get better as the season went on. No QB would have had a good season last year for UK. Their line regressed, their defense regressed, they just played bad. The lack of effort from the team makes me suspicious of what kind of impact Stoops is really having.
