Seriously, Highlands again has 3-4 legit D-1 players on this years squad whether major D-1 or 2nd tier D-1. I'm thinking contender AGAIN!

 

Who are the 3 or 4 D1 guys on this years team? I'd like to keep an eye out for them this season.

On the roster as of now are Austin Hergott, Jared Doughtery, and Bo Hebel. All three are game changers at their respective positions. Or at least that is why the college coaches are saying. So don't shoot the messenger if you disagree.

I have seen less talented Highlands teams win it.....2008 comes to mind! IMO....

A self esteem boost for what exactly? Hear year after year from the CovCath faithful that this is the year. Would like to know why that is. Perhaps you could expound on that.

Not trying to Hijack thread but anyone that knows me and is familiar with my posts knows I am "Purples Guy." All BG fans knows that Highlands will always be a contender. It would take 2 maybe 3 "really down" classes for them not to contend. They are a machine.

 

HOWEVER, I think all Purples fans are excited about having some possible more shots at the Birds in years to come. Believe me, I understand that the Purples and the Birds have to be on their A - game in the playoffs to get to the carpet but if the stars aline, 5A finals should get real interesting in the next few years.

 

Highlands camp and BG camp knows (they may not say it out loud) that this upcoming season could be a little more challenging than other years. If there is a way the two teams could get to the end, it really will be a crap shoot.

 

Here is what is exciting for both camps. Both squads see a very bright future in the next 2-4 years. Pulaski, Covington and whoever else knows it as well. In fact, I am predicting another "Fant like run" for the Purples around the corner.

 

With no disrespect to other 5A teams or other classes, I am predicting these two squads to have some classic match ups in the very near future. Should be fun!

They have been a contender for pretty much the last ten years if not longer; nothing has changed and I doubt anyone who knows a lick about KY high school football would say otherwise. Didn't know I was going to get attacked for liking a post I thought was sarcastically funny... Good to know, JOAT!

Actually as Guru stated, the thread title was not correct for what I was looking to hear about and that is why this year is the year of the Blue Colonel. I still have not achieved that goal so maybe this thread should be closed down.
