June 10, 201511 yr My friend is the uncle of 2016 LB Jango Glackin. Jango had offers from Wisconsin, WVU, Northwestern, Indiana among others. Scout had him as the #40 LB. Yesterday he committed to Northwestern. Loved Coach Walker. Close to Ohio where he's from. Great education. Today Scout dropped him to #70 .
June 10, 201511 yr I believe a lot of these sites adjust rankings throughout the summer based on camps and such. So I don't know if him committing to NW has anything to do with it. It does make you pause for a second though, as it seems to happen to UK commits as well. But a person needs to judge a recruit on offers not stars, and he had a fairly good offer sheet. He will be a good player it seems

He will be a good player it seems Could be coincidental timing. He didn't do camps . He transferred to IMG in Florida which has gotten him in front of schools.

I guess some did plus combined with him not being at camps I guess that is to be expected somewhat. 30 seems a big much though. Not sure how Scout came up with #40 without him being at camps if that's how they judge. Interesting process. As I told the kid's dad Coach Walker doesn't care that Scout dropped him.

Most of the elite camps are free to attend.

June 10, 201511 yr I dont put a lot of stock in this STAR ranking system. Most of these folks ranking kids have never recruited kids for any team. Just a bunch of guys that have get paid to cover high school kids and they base everything they hear from inside athletic departments.
June 10, 201511 yr My son got ranked as a two star. Never attend one elite camp. He just got a message on Twitter from the area scouting director. I don't think paying for anything can get you ranked.

Once his son decided to go to ND - and not need to go to the camps any longer, he dropped in his # of stars. Golic, who seems to be plugged in pretty well on college recruiting (he, his brother, and his two sons all went through it) firmly believes if you don't go to camps, the number of stars you get decreases. I will take his word for it.

I will take his word for it. He might be a little biased there when you consider both of his sons showed to be at about the talent level of their rankings. Mike Jr was a 3 star considered to be in the top 10 centers in the class. He had a solid career at ND, but didn't get drafted and hasn't stuck in the NFL as a FA. Jake was a 2 star TE that never saw the field at ND and was little more than a decent blocking TE in his one year at UC. There is nothing about their college careers that indicate they weren't ranked at the right level...
June 14, 201511 yr John Anthony ,OSU is only offering one backer this year and it was Borland. Jango Lebanon film hurt him by the way they played him. He looks much better now against much better competition. I was told that any other year and he would have been offered. MSU said the same thing. Last year many teams took many backers and the 2016 class is deeper than the 2015 class. He wasn't offered by Kentucky either. You have a linebacker commit already. June 14, 201511 yr Jango after his new film and performance at Sound Mind Sound Body is now ranked #3 9 Backer in the country and #3 Backer in Florida by Scout.
