He might be a little biased there when you consider both of his sons showed to be at about the talent level of their rankings. Mike Jr was a 3 star considered to be in the top 10 centers in the class. He had a solid career at ND, but didn't get drafted and hasn't stuck in the NFL as a FA. Jake was a 2 star TE that never saw the field at ND and was little more than a decent blocking TE in his one year at UC. There is nothing about their college careers that indicate they weren't ranked at the right level...

The ranking of football players is awful. There is no possible way to get close even if you have all available info. Just pointing out his sons were ranked where they should have been at the end of the day...

Rankings may not mean anything, but it is a numbers game. Alabama, Ohio State, Florida St etc are not doing what they are doing running a bunch of kids that are 1 or 2 star kids out there. These services do know what they are doing, and the teams with the most 4 and 5 stars are winning. Oregon may be an exception, IMO their system is so tough to defend they recruit speed and out scheme everyone. There are of course misses, some over rated and some grossly underrated, but on average these things stand true

John Anthony ' date='OSU is only offering one backer this year and it was Borland. Jango Lebanon film hurt him by the way they played him. He looks much better now against much better competition. I was told that any other year and he would have been offered. MSU said the same thing. Last year many teams took many backers and the 2016 class is deeper than the 2015 class. He wasn't offered by Kentucky either. You have a linebacker commit already. I was just going back to when it was speculated they would offer. I live in Ohio and watch most of the top recruits play. I've seen Jango play he is a very talented guy, but as you said OSU is loaded and I mean loaded at LB. It will be hard for Borland to even play early. I think in the end it will all work out better for Jango getting a top notch education and getting to play earlier at NW. Good luck to him.

I think this year with Jango finally getting good coaching and being allowed t make plays at IMG Academy, some schools who passed on him will rethink about what they did. Some of the backers ranked above him had better film because they were properly played and Coached. Jango has things you can't Coach, he has a 4.5 electronic 40" a sub 4 pro agility, a 38 vertical, and a 6.84 L cone. He was never able to display those abilities the way he was made to play at Lebanon. Already after a month of Spring ball against the best players in the country you see how much better he has gotten. Watch his Lebanon highlights and now his Florida highlights. I personally don't think he could have played for a worst group of Coaches than Lebanon. Not many coaches make their Will linebacker contain from the outside in and limits his ability to make plays and takes away his best skills. He will be starting at Will linebacker for probably the greatest collection of talent ever put on one High School team. Be curious to see what you think of him after this season. Jango is now the #2 OLB in Florida. You will have plenty of chances to see him on ESPN. Tune in August 30 at 2 pm on ESPNU as we play Mirimar

This is why camps are so important. HS could hold the skills back of a big time athlete.

Def someone to keep an eye on who knows maybe OSU can make a late run as he is getting more exposure and better coaching. What happened with Jurko and grades? School issue or kid issue?

The school is top notch. Very hard academically. Most people think it is a place for athletes to breeze through, but totally not the case. Hopefully he does what he needs to become eligible to be a Buck.

So, Alabama, OSU, FSU to name a few are recruiting the kids who pay the most at camps to get ranked? Rankings matter people, there is a reason why those same schools are good every year, it's because they win the recruiting titles and get the best/top rated kids. It's funny I only here teams who don't recruit at a high level say " recruiting ranks don't matter." It seems to matter to Bama, Auburn, AM, FSU, OSU etc...

Not singling out this kid, just speaking to some who say rankings don't matter. Idk why he dropped so much and wish him nothin but the best.
