Why does CP3 get a pass? He's regarded as the Point God in some circles. He's never been to the conference finals ever. The Clippers actually played better as a team without him against the Rockets. Colossal playoff collapse by the Clippers for the second year in a row. Now reports are that Blake and DeAndre Jordan began tuning him out during the season and DeAndre isn't expected to return to the team as a result. Kobe gets killed for running off Dwight and stories are wrote about how free agents don't want to play with him. CP3 is running off Blake and DeAndre and on top of that his team's underachievers in the playoffs on a yearly basis. Instead folks are blaming DeAndre and Blake for not working hard enough for CP3's taste.

Maybe I am biased, because he is one of my most disliked players in the NBA, but he is widely considered the best true PG for some time and his teams just haven't gotten it done. I will say, he balled out through this post-season. Each time I watched he was doing his thing. But if you are a star on the level people elevate him to, you can't blow a 3-1 lead, or a 19 point lead late in the third quarter of an elimination game for the other team on your home court.

 

I've always felt he lacks something intangibly.

Same here and it baffles me. Especially now that the media is seeking to give him a pass and blame Doc, Blake and DeAndre now. Other superstars get killed in the same situation. Especially point guards.

I can't stand him, never have and likely never will...so I can't really be objective either. But I've never thought as much of him as his reputation is with many.

I thought Paul played pretty well in the post season and he is a stud. Game 6 was basically a fluke but it happened. I don't blame Paul for that. It is funny that he gets a pass though. Doc has too. Can you imagine if Vinnie Del Negro or Scott Brooks lost that game 6?? They would be crucified but Doc (who I like a lot) is not getting much heat that I can see.

The Clippers are in a bind. They totally need to rebuild their depth and that's going to be an issue if they pay Jordan.

 

They had a great shot and blew it, that window is shrinking.

I do think Paul owns that collapse. This postseason was supposed to be his legacy defining season. I think it was, but not in the way he would want.

My guess is that had I been a Clipper and spent the year with CP3 that at some point I would have punched him.

CP3 is one of the most unlikeable dudes. From his antics on the court (cheap shots and such) to his whining and complaining...can't stand him.

Nash didn't win one. Kidd won one as an old man behind Dirk's greatness. Stockton never won one. Hard to judge him when his contemporaries didn't win it all either. Granted some made it much further, but still.

He doesn't get a pass from me. Dude has never won anything.

He gets a pass this playoffs. He played that last series w/ a bum hamstring. He probably shouldn't have played b/c they were playing well without him. HOWEVER, there is no last round if not for CP3's game 7 against the Spurs.

Isaiah Thomas??? Until the last 2 years, when has CP3 EVER played with players the caliber of Isaiah during the worst years in Detroit. He played w/ 2 Hall of Famers and had a HoF coach. Not to mention, his time in the league has coincided w/ the Lakers, Heat, and Spurs really running things. Put CP3 in Kyrie Irving's position this year and then we could talk. He's never had that. His #2 in New Orleans??? Tyson Chandler. In LA??? Blake Griffin. No consistent offensive threats.
