Lockdown? I love WCS as much as anybody, but there isn't anyone who locks down those guys.

WCS isn't locking down any of those players you mentioned. Not one. Call me a hater if you want, that's not happening. Especially not early in his NBA career.

I agree. He's a great defender. One of the better ones I've seen especially for his size. But NO ONE really locks those guys down. Slow them down? Maybe. But not lock them down.

Exactly maybe they get 18 instead of 28 or something. But Deuce was right, especially not early in his career, he's going to get torched. After the Notre Dame game, he was commenting about how nice Jerian Grant's moves were and how he didn't really know how to defend them yet (most notably the step back). He did pretty well for a guy that "didn't know" how to guard those moves but shoot, guarding Curry, Harden, Durant, Melo a step back is going to be the least of his problems.

I probably should clarify that Ford didn't say WCS would lockdown those guys. Ford said WCS could guard anyone on the floor. That was me questioning Ford's comment with your same view ... WCS isn't locking down those guys. I should have split the paragraph like I did above so people didn't think Ford mentioned those players.

Okafor has a higher rebounds per game average than either Frank or WCS. So he does more than just score IMO.

 

I think when these lists get put together, voters/writers feel obligated to put UK guys on there because of their historically great season. But as an avid UK fan, the team is where they are because they have 7 guys you can put out there who are all above average talent, plus 2 guys who can be pretty darn imposing in Dakari & Lee. It's both the quality and quantity of UK's depth that has them at 38-0.

 

But the only elite player on the team, IMO, is Towns. I love Willie and people make great points about his defensive prowess, but I think he's a 2nd Team guy.

Not a big difference in the rebounding between WCS(6.5 in 25.8min)and Okafor(8.7 in 30.1min). Neither one are very good on free throws. WCS about 10% better. I couldn't care less if he is on the 1 or 2 team as long as they are winning.
