While I get both sides of the debate, and I'd probably be more comfortable with WCS as a 2nd team AA the hard to let slide part is putting a 7'0" big with the ability to guard all 5 positions into a box.

 

The Brow comparison is actually a great starting point. If a guy that has that size and the ability to guard everyone is the NPOY with a solid but far from polished offensive game can WCS really be considered that far behind? He isn't NPOY good on offense, but does that really mean he can't be 1st team AA good because he is a freak of nature on D???

Ask any coach the value of a big with the ability to guard every position, erase a ton of mistakes from every other spot and get you 10 points a night in the process. Every one would take that over the guy putting up 18 points who gives up 16 in the process.

The UK defense is the best in college basketball history because kids cannot score the ball with any skill anymore. Go to the Sam Dekker thread and you'll see me giving plenty of credit where credit is due. This is the first time ever for me where I want a UK guy on the first team(KAT) and folks get sensitive because I want the other UK guy off(WCS) and put on the second team. Are you saying you'd rather have WCS than KAT if you had to choose? Everyone puts their own teams together differently. I'd take KAT and Okafor over WCS as a First Team All America just like NBA GMs will take KAT and Okafor over WCS in the draft.
