From the games I watched some of in both sessions on the KHSAA internet site, the attendance looked to be awful. They did many wide shots and there were thousands of really good seats in lower arena empty all the way around. Not much noise either. Was there even 10,000 there? Is it fair to say with limited star power or Cinderella teams that this could be the worse attended Sweet 16 in history or will things pick up today?

Two far western Kentucky schools on a Wednesday afternoon and a Louisville public school hurt attendance. This afternoon should be solid, with Lexington Catholic and Boyle being local and Johnson Central will have a big group. Tonight should also be solid, but the UK game could limit some casual fans. It should be very strong on Friday, as it most always is.

I sat in the balcony and it looked awfully empty from up there for the afternoon session. I don't think of Hopkinsville and Owensboro as being really good at "bringing a crowd"...and Wednesday afternoon is tough. Might have been a big difference if Henderson County had made it.

The 12,457 number had to be tickets sold. There weren't that many people there...by a long shot.

1st game today doesn't look much better, it's a shame too because I guarantee you every casual or team fan that is stuck in a corner seat, behind the backboard or up in the nose bleeds would love to have a seat where all those empty seats are at(lower arena, foul line to foul line). I guess as long as they got the money, everything is ok, just doesn't look good on tv(internet) to have so many good empty seats throughout the arena

The Redbook rules are killing it for coaches......

A very true and insightful comment. This is another example of how a few bad actors cause the majority to be punished. Too, too bad.

Boyle has a chance to save this tourney's attendance if they get a good turnout tomorrow.

I'm doing my share....bought my tickets right after the game tonight.
