It is if you live in Eastern Ky, but not if you live in Western Ky.

Yeah, I could argue that Bowling Green is just as equally centrally located. I personally think it should rotate between Louisville and Bowling Green myself.

Commonwealth is too big. It would seem like no one was there for most of the games. Papa John's is more intimate and add in the turf and its a no-brainer.

I also REALLY like the B/W level at PJCS. It adds a big level of comfort to a long day, especially in bad weather. (also especially when they play 3 games in one day)

Papa John's is the best site without a doubt.

-All chair-back seating.

-They do a good job with concessions and cleanup

-Easy access to food, bathrooms, exits, ect.

-Plenty of options for motels.

-The turf.

An IMO the best venue for the kids. Playing in that setting is something that they will NEVER forget.

Word is UK may be going to sport turf in the near future...If that happens then they may rotate.

As long as Trinity and X can meet in the finals I do not see this in the future.

It is played in Louisville because of the sports turf.

And the major attendance boon that they have had in the 2000's.

The KHSAA could actually take a page from Bluegrass Preps in making the championship an EVENT. Thanks to Mr. Network and the Guru, the 2004 finals were a weekend never to be forgotten! :ylsuper: :dancingpa :ylsuper:

2005 wasn't bad either :fire:

For some strange reason, pebble-lovers are very sensitive to the fact that they did not have a team representing them in the 2004 final.

Actually, my intent in my post's reference to 2004 was concerning the fun-filled BGP festivities held at the Executive West that year, which sadly did not occur in 2005. It had nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that the Tigers were Champs. The whole weekend just seemed to be more of AN EVENT, which is what others in this thread have been discussing. Just follow the bouncing ball :jump: , and you'll get there. :D

Well why not have it in the state Capital city...Frankfort

Just clownin...:D

Not to argue over completely meaningless things … but … if that marker was in place before the Purchase area was annexed into Kentucky, I could see Danville as being the center. But looking at the map of Ky in the almanac, with Marion County filled in, it's pretty clear that it is the geographical center.

You are exactly right. Danville used to be the geographic center of the state, and there was a small historic marker somewhere on the Campus of Centre Collge to signify it. However, there as a Purchase (can't remember-was it the Jackson Purchase???) of land that was annexed to the western part of the state, and the geographic center obviously moved. Marion County sounds correct, but I have no idea.

I can understand why the tiggers would be less sensitive to the years when they don't make the finals. After all, they've had a LOT more experience at missing the finals than the Shamrocks.

I knew what you meant Ox :thumb:

I didn't have any fun at the 2004 festivites

Turf! Plain and simple. Ask anyone who was at the games the year they were played in Lexington (Mark Higgs' year) UK simply says No now.

I would much rather see the games played at Commonwealth Stadium...Grass in my opinion is always better.

For 4 (and maybe more) games over 2 (and maybe more) days in December? No way.
