Is this Holy Cross the best N KY team ever?

Featured Replies

It would be hard to dispute this, any thoughts?

Well, they are the only one that has won it all. So yes

I'm not saying they aren't the best but a title doesn't always equate to the best ever.

There has been many of dominate teams in northern Kentucky Gurks basketball but could never get over that hump and beat that one team to take the title this team did they took every blow given to them and punched back just as hard. Whether it was an official trying give Etown the game or an official trying to give the game to Allen county the win HC got over the hump 4 times in this tournament so for now I say yes they are the best girls northern Kentucky team unless someone can prove me wrong they are deserving of this

I would like to see the instances where an official was trying to give Allen County the win...

Watch the game over and tell me how many fouls and walks got called on HC some deserving and tell me how many on ACS got looked the other way on!

All tournament long the Khsaa and officials where against the small 9th region school HC winning the tournament opposing coaches said so and even other fans felt that way HC had more then just a gantlet of s bracket to go through during this tournament but they still prevailed where as the other teams they will be compared to haven't been able to get past that hump so yes they deserve the nod.

It's funny, E-town fans or AC-S fans didn't think the refs were trying to give them the game, just the Holy Cross fans.

I don't have a dog in either race.

The games were close so you had to blame the refs and not give the girls credit.

Enjoy the win and the title.

They are good, but I would say there have been a handful of 9th Region teams in the past that could have beat them. There are so many factors that go into winning a state title besides just the fact your team is talented: If the overall talent across the state is up or down in a particular season, how the draw in the tournament shakes out, etc.

I will say this: They are definitely heads and shoulders above most when it comes to never-say-die attitude. They persevered and won the All A and the overall KHSAA titles. That is a great accomplishment.

And those officials arrived in black helicopters, right?

Sad.

Agreed...I am not a fan of the poor mouthing and everyone is against us, you win a game because you earned it and you are the better team...:thumb:

I'll just never understand why people believe the ref's have dark, ulterior motive when officiating. What do ref's have to gain if one team wins or not?? It does make for a good, dramatic story, but it just ain't true.

Agree 100% with this Sweeper...Do not blame all HC fans for the views and comments of 1 poster on here. We are very, very humble and fully appreciate all the support we got all week from the people in Northern Ky. These girls worked hard all season and especially this past week in Bowling Green and deserve this championship. Will be great to see the banner hanging from the ceiling of the Finn Center next season. :thumb:

Amen, brother!

I must say, this thread takes the cake for new ways to hack on officials. I thought I'd seen all angles of arbiter bashing. This one is a new refreshing take on the stripes. They suck and still we won. Brilliant.
