I don't think I have shared this, but my dad is suffering from liver cancer and isn't doing very well. I don't think he has a lot longer to be honest. My mom currently is his primary caregiver. Last week she fell off the front porch step and broke her ankle in 3 places. When she did so she dropped her 17 yo shih tzu, Princess, who then had to be put down because of the fall. Mom goes tomorrow to have 3 screws put in her ankle. On top of that she has been suffering from the stomach flu the past 3 days. My sister has had to move in temporally to help out. Things are kind of rough around their house right now and can use all the prayers they can get. I appreciate it.

Man, when it rains, it pours, right? Make sure your sister gets a break...there are lots of senior helper type companies that provide everything from companionship, shopping, errands, medical support, etc. Worth the $$ on occasion, especially when fatigue sets in on top of raw emotions. Best wishes for good outcomes all around and so sorry about the dog....

Unfortunately since I live 400 miles away I can't be there to help. My mom for 72 is in great shape and gets around very well, that is until this accident. But she is fighting on and will be back on her feet as soon as absolutely possible and should recover pretty well considering her age.
