Detroit Lions defensive tackle Nick Fairley will be making a scheduled visit with the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday, according to ESPN NFL reporter Josina Anderson.

Fairly, selected No. 13 overall during the 2011 NFL draft, is an unrestricted free agent has dealt with injuries and inconsistencies. Injuries have prevented him from playing a full 16-game season and he's only generated 13.5 quarterback sacks during his four seasons with the Detroit Lions.

That being said, Fairley is an excellent defensive lineman. Prior to suffering a sprained MCL in 2014, Pro Football Focus graded his run defense with a +5.7 and praised his pass rush (+8.1) with 20 quarterback pressures in 181 pass rushes. In 2012, arguably his best season, Pro Football Focus ranked Fairley as the fifth-best defensive tackle -- behind the top-ranked Geno Atkins of course.

DT Nick Fairley visiting with the Cincinnati Bengals on Wednesday - Cincy Jungle

I know some of these are in the other thread but I think all of you know I am an individual thread guy because it's easier to find what you are looking for and it makes BGP more money.

This really excites me.

Just the fact the Bengals are hosting him excites me and the fact that they admit that DT is a glaring need for the team.

Now this would be an impact signing.

Big time move if the Bengals can sign him.

He's always injured.

I would love if they could get him and Hardy!

They really have only two DT's that can play well, Atkins and Thompson. I think it is the most glaring need they have. Peko just doesn't have it anymore and Still seems to have other things on his mind and rightfully so. This would be huge upgrade.

I wanted the Bengals to pursue Suh but Fairley would be an okay consolation prize.

I would love if they could get him and Hardy!

If the Bengals sign Greg Hardy I will be very, very disappointed (and equally surprised).

I like others am glad there at least bringing him in for a visit.

Why

It seems the Bengals bring in a upper level FA every year for a visit but never sign any.

This would be a terrible move by the Bengals IMO.

They really have only two DT's that can play well, Atkins and Thompson. I think it is the most glaring need they have. Peko just doesn't have it anymore and Still seems to have other things on his mind and rightfully so. This would be huge upgrade.

Still is a free agent
