Keep this thread on topic and quit all the personal jabs at one another or this thread will be shut down and some folks could end up on the outside looking in. Thank you.

To be honest I am much more interested in watching this game BECAUSE it is in Regents. It will be a much better atmosphere for a tourney game.

What time will this game take place on Tuesday?

If Northern were to win and Stetson were to upset North Florida (BIG IF), then NKU would be slated to host Stetson in the semifinals on Thursday, March 5. That game would be at BOKC, I'm guessing, since that is an open night on the 9th Region tournament calendar.

This is so laughable! Success? Losing overall record, playing in one of the worst D-1 leagues in the nation? Bellarmine or UWP would win the A-Sun. The two best programs Mercer and East Tenn. left the league and its full of D-1 wannabes who are wasting a lot of money.

Speaking of wasting money, I see these links about Northern Kentucky doing a lot of that. Read on:

NKU paid former worker $200K to avoid sex lawsuit

Fired NKU dance coach may face criminal investigation

Don't see this stuff going on at Bellarmine. Northern Kentucky is a blot on the state tax system, just like K-State.

You are funny, Bellarmine would not win the A-Sun with their current roster. They could compete with some of the teams but if they played a 14 game schedule in the league with the roster they have they would not break .500. Bellarmine has a great coach and very nice program for D2 but they would have to get better players to compete night in and night out in a D-I league. Not sure why you are so jealous of NKU, just enjoy your team and you might bring home another D2 title.

Sounds like a whole lot of sour grapes involved here.

Not sure you know much about the Atlantic Sun Conference. Although Mercer did move to a football conference they did beat Duke in the NCAA last year and Florida Gulf Coast went to the Sweet 16 the year before. This year USC Upstate has wins over Ga. Tech and Miss. St. North Florida beat Purdue and Florida Gulf Coast has wins over U Mass, San Francisco and Ohio University by 17. NKU beat USC Upstate twice. Don't tell me the Great Lakes Conference can even compares.

Some don't know this but Jacksonville U. made it to the National Championship in 1970 eventually losing to UCLA. I couldn't agree with you more, there is no comparison between the GLC and the A-Sun, two different levels of basketball.

Bellarmine is legit. They could beat any single team in the ASun. My question is if they have enough depth to win a lot in a night-in night-out schedule. BU shows every year they can play with D1 teams during the exhibition series. I watched them beat an X team that ended up going to either the S16 or the Elite 8 later that same season.

Bellermine has a nice program but I'm not sure they would perform any better than NKU has in the A-Sun. Which is what the poster Withrow Tigers suggested. I have nothing against Bellermine, they are one of the best in D2 and they deserve all the praise in the world. Back when NKU was D2 they played several close games versus Division 1 opponents as well in exhibition games.

How many former D-1 kids does Bellarmine have?

When NKU was D-2 they always had former D-1 kids occupying the front court slots.

Alot of D2 teams play well in exhibition games, NKU beat West Virginia a few years ago if I'm not mistaken. The BU team that played X a few years ago was very talented and had several legit D1 players. I dont think Bellarmine's team this year has near as much talent as that team. I have seen many great GLVC teams and alot them could compete on any given night and win their fair share in a league like the A-Sun but very few would win a D1 league if they had to play in it with their roster. The the A-sun is a very top heavy league, the bottom of the league is more like playing top D2 level teams. If NKU stays in the league with their facilities and location they should have a great chance to compete for the league title most years. I would also add that if Bellamine went D1 with their coaching staff, location and fan support it wouldnt take them long to be a top team in the A-Sun.

After looking at their roster they have 3, but only two have played. The two that have played are 5'9" guard Chris Whitehead previously of Fordham and 6'5" guard Josh Sewell previously of Miami Ohio. Both guys average double figure points.
