I was talking to some people in a store in Jackson last week and they told me the Breathitt County job has been open for several weeks.

Didn't know that...Any reason as to why it is open?

I'm not sure, but I think the fans weren't all that happy with the coach. I was told that he actually didn't do the coaching, that assistants did that. Breathitt's school district has been under state control for the past 3 or 4 years and I believe the state decided last year to continue that control for at least 3 more years. I don't think their BOE has any say in most matters, but I could be wrong about that part. From my understanding the state appointed a superintendent and he makes the decisions for the school.

Deron Breeze has accepted the Adair Co job. Story on his resignation at South Warren on BG Daily News site.

This is confirmed by the News Democrat in Carrollton via Twitter.

I wonder if J.R. Vanhoose will take that over? He is a teacher @ Phelps if I am not mistaken.

J.R. VanHoose is a teacher at Johnson Central and was part of the coaching staff for Head Coach Tommy McKenzie last season as JC won their 4th Consecutive 15th Region Crown. If Im not mistake he was hired at JC about 30 days into the school year in 2014.

Prior to this he was at Phelps though and led the Phelps Lady Hornets to a 15th Region Runner-up finish.

Any word on who Nicholas is interviewing or looking at? They have a good bunch of young talent(if they don't transfer to Bourbon), a very nice gym and other facilities
