Ballard Memorial hired Marla Cooper.

She is believed to be the first female coach for a boys varsity team in Region 1

Also, Fulton County and Hickman County are both open

Rumor around the 3rd Region is that Tony Hopper is the new coach at South Warren. So this would obviously open up Muhlenberg County, does Stovall stay there? With the Muhlenberg School system having all the financial trouble they are having, does this impact the next coach?

Hopper has taken the job at South Warren. Next move is up to Muhlenberg Co. Will it be Stovall back into the fray or someone else enter into the crazy world of high school basketball in Muhlenberg County?

Everything I have heard is that Stovall has already been moved up to head coach at Muhlenberg.

What's crazy exactly in muhlenberg?

Jimmy Long leaves Fulton City and takes over at Hickman County.

Interesting to see that Fulton City and Fulton County are now both open. Why did he go to Hickman County? Aren't they in the same district?

My guess would be that almost any job in the state is better than either Fulton jobs. Again, just my guess.

No intent to offend anyone, although I'm sure it will, but that has to be the weakest district in the state.

I apologize if you thought I was calling people in Muhlenbeg County crazy. I was referring to the tradition and passion of Muhlenbefg County HS basketball over the years. That would include one of the top programs with victories in the US at Central City, and great players such as Corky Withrow, Tony Hopper, and Greg Franklin at Central City, Patrick Sparks at Muhlenberg North- Ray Harper at Bremen. Heck, even EA Diddle coached both basketball and football at Greenville. I believe Stovall will do very well,

Would be high time for Fulton City and Fulton County to consolidate and become Fulton Central HS. Both athletic programs have become low on the totem pole over recent years. I guess the resistance to this has come from the Fulton City side.

Makes a lot of sense...which is probably why it won't get done anytime soon. If the numbers are correct that I looked up, if they combined the high school would still only have about 320 students. So even consolidated it would still be a small school.
