Jon Stewart To Leave The Daily Show

Featured Replies

For those wondering the same thing that I was, it doesn't say what he'll be doing next. Just that he'll be retiring.

Who could possibly replace him is my question?

Tough gig for whomever takes it on.

I agree. I feel like they should cancel the show and create a whole new show and format in its place.

Brian Williams

I think a lot of people can replace him. John became in his own mind bigger than he really was. He turned from comedian to some sort of political guru in his own mind. Show was great his first few years, the last 10 it really became unwatchable.

the last 10 it really became unwatchable.

And how does this explain their high ratings? Hmmm. Just because a person doesn't like the show, doesn't mean it's not good, or that many others don't watch it.

Truth.

I'm in the vast minority but I could never, and still can't, stand him. Never found him to be even remotely funny.

I'm seldom in agreement with Stewart on anything, but he is really good at what he does IMO.

I know most people watch that show for the humor, but I remember an interview he had with Mike Huckabee a few years back. Two guys from opposite ends of the spectrum, but they were beyond civil with one another & both scored points with me after it was over.

I'm curious to see what he does next & what direction the show will go after his departure.

Agreed.

Lots of TV shows and movies that "the critics" pan are favorites of mine. Lots of shows the critics like aren't my cup of tea.

I have less than zero interest in watching American Sniper; but by all accounts it is an excellent movie.

I just hope they don't use the same writers and staff as the show that took over the Cobert Report, I have attempted to watch that show several times, I can't get into it at all. They should keep the same writers and staff that they have now, keep the same format, and let a new person grow into the spot as Stewart did for the past 17 years.
