February 11, 201511 yr Author Jon Stewart Leaving 'The Daily Show' - Yahoo TV The host explained his exit — which will happen later in 2015 — in an emotional announcement on Tuesday night's episode. “I’m not gonna try to sum up what this place has meant to me over the years… I’ve got plenty of time,” he said. “I’m not going anywhere tomorrow. But this show doesn’t deserve an even slightly restless host, and neither do you.” Stewart, who made his feature film directorial debut with Rosewater in 2014, explained that "restless" feeling in the simplest and sweetest of terms: "I don't have any specific plans," he said. "I've got a lot of ideas, a lotta things in my head. I going to have dinner, on a school night, with my family, who I've heard — from multiple sources — are lovely people."
February 12, 201511 yr I only watch Stewart once or twice a month but I think it is a huge loss for all of us.
February 12, 201511 yr I'm in the vast minority but I could never, and still can't, stand him. Never found him to be even remotely funny. I think he's hilarious. The only reason I quit watching the show is that I got tired of national politics. He's very good at what he does.
February 12, 201511 yr .... "The Daily Show" is fine, but "Da Ali G Show" is where its at for cutting-edge interviews.
February 12, 201511 yr I'm in the vast minority but I could never, and still can't, stand him. Never found him to be even remotely funny. I am with you. I really liked him at first actually, but then he turned into a Bill Maher type of comedian and actually became the very person he originally poked fun at.
February 12, 201511 yr I only watch Stewart once or twice a month but I think it is a huge loss for all of us. He isn't a saint or heals cripples. I think we will be just fine. It will be alright, I promise.
