Two Division-I Schools Interested in Weyer

Featured Replies

And to think Weyer didnt even start on his 8th Grade Team at HMS...

What the heck?????? Ben Weyer was one of 3 8th graders that year that had to also play frosh basketball because of low numbers. There were games he did not start, just like there were games like that for some others.

Could've had Hatton, Jackson Davis and Brent Bach in a package deal but they had "no interest". Sure would've helped ticket sales.

Package deal? Good lord. Brent Bach is not a D1 player.

I'd reply but it's not worth the effort; I can see that conceptually this is beyond your comprehension

I'm not sure why you're trying to imply I'm jealous of the Travelers roster. There is nothing to be jealous of.

You talk about the Travelers more then you talk about your own program, so I respectfully disagree...

Typical response when someone has no retort.

Jackson Davis wasnt going to NKU, he was being recruited by alot higher level of teams, also NKU cant play in the NCAA so there is no way he was going there. Hatton was nice player but I would take the point guard Bez has now from Indiana over him any day of the week. Bez cant sign every northern ky kid nor should he, he has to recruit players that fit his system no matter where they come from.

10-13, I rest my case!

They are in their 3rd year of Division 1 and playing competitive in a nice league, judge NKU when they are eligble for the NCAA tourney and will be able to recruit a kid giving him a chance to play in the big dance. I guarantee Brent Bach and Hatton wouldnt have improved their record this year.

That's why I said current Travelers Roster. They could add 2 7 footers in the next month or so. Who knows.

I saw that you said "current", but you are missing my point because when you use the term current it is not "complete or likely accurate" information. You cannot possibly know what the "current" roster is because that is not something you or anyone else not affiliated would know. By mentioning they could add (2) 7' footers, what if they already exist? So if there are others on the roster playing in the post does it render your assertion as meaningless? I have no idea who they have lined up to play the post, but why provide speculation about another program if I lack the information to give an informed opinion.

That is my simple point, but you could prove to be a great guesser. If so, Ben could still play the 3 or the stretch 4 and he will be a special player with his skill set to do so many things for his team.

I saw Bez at probably 5 to 10 games watching Campbell. Why do we want him to go to gyms where there are no kids he is interested in? It's mot like he has a lot of free time.

Um, watching Campbell or watching Holy Cross where his son attended?

I misinterpreted your comment then. I stand corrected. We can go back to our regularly scheduled program.

I have said since his freshman year Weyer has the most upside and will get some solid D-1 offers. Congrats to Ben.

If Bellarmine takes a kid they're usually can play D1. Definitely think Bellarmine would be favored if they played NKU.

I agree. Bellarmine could definitely compete in the smaller D1 conferences. If Bellarmine and NKU played, I'd have Bellarmine favored by double digits.

Just going off of the roster that Walter was given in the AAU forum .

This has gotten out of hand. It was not my intent to hijack this thread. My point was I see Ben Weyer as a stretch 4 at the college level and he'll have an opportunity to play that position this summer.

That's all my intentions were. If you want to discuss it further with me, take it to the AAU section or just message me.

Rule 5

judge NKU when they are eligble for the NCAA tourney and will be able to recruit a kid giving him a chance to play in the big dance.

Better yet, judge NKU when their next coach has a chance to have two recruiting classes of kids that are eligible to play into March. Until then, Coach Bezold is just mining the store. His David Elson impersonation is about up, and the next coach (about May 1st) is going to have a shot to get some better kids starting next season.

Jackson Davis to NKU? I love fans.
