Two Division-I Schools Interested in Weyer

Featured Replies

Hatton, Bolden, Ruthsatz and the big kid from HC Campbell. The list goes on. I am glad Weyer is getting looks at schools. Just wish NKU would look in their own back yard.

I tend to agree with UK on this one. Invite some local kids to camps, respond to their emails, check them out in a game or two. Just seeing him in local gyms could help create some local excitement. He wouldn't have to offer them, but show some interest.

I saw Bez at probably 5 to 10 games watching Campbell. Why do we want him to go to gyms where there are no kids he is interested in? It's mot like he has a lot of free time.

He, Matt Wilson and Carson Williams are the only front line players on the current Travelers roster. He should definitely have plenty of opportunities to play a "stretch 4" position with that group.

And to think Weyer didnt even start on his 8th Grade Team at HMS...

Another myth.

This message to stinkyboy.....stinkyboy II has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space. :lol2:

Clear your files man.

Respectfully I might add that many AAU programs will not post a "roster" until closer to the season starts. Some kids are known to be with a team, but others not. Lot's of jockeying for final roster spots taking place now and in the next month with elite travel teams. It is always likely that programs have some commits that simply do not get known to "outsiders" no matter how hard people try to find that information. I am not speaking specifically of the Travelers roster, just in general that unless you are associated with a program it is likely that making statements about another team's roster is not going to be complete or entirely accurate.

I am not disagreeing with your comment, just pointing it out that it is an assumption based on speculation.

That's why I said current Travelers Roster. They could add 2 7 footers in the next month or so. Who knows.

I'm not sure why you're trying to imply I'm jealous of the Travelers roster. There is nothing to be jealous of.

NKU doesn't recruit the "big" time players here in NKY because they have no shot at getting them. Bolden, Hatton, and Campbell were all "bigger" than NKU. As stated, McDonald ended up there but realiestically outside of maybe Schulte, nobody has come through the area that NKU should've recruited.

You don't know unless you try.

How much "bigger" is Vermont than NKU?

Where did Campbell go??

NKU's issue is they are not established at D1 and can't play in the NCAA. Vermont has played in the big dance.

Campbell is at Ohio U - another team that makes the NCAA.

Let's face it, in a lot of these kids minds in NKY, NKU is still DII. When a kid tells you they aren't interested or obviously are looking elsewhere, you have to use your time and energy going after those you can get.

I really believe that kids outside of NKY in KY have more respect and understanding of NKU than the local kids.

The only way to change that is when they get eligible for the big dance, they make it a year or two, get national attention by winning a game or two, then the chances become much greater, as well as, the fan base.

I'm more apt to buy into the "Hatton wanted to go away from home" theory than he was bigger than NKU.

I'll definitely buy into the "Campbell was sold on the campus and social aspect of Athens" theory than he was bigger than NKU. I took a visit there with my son and I would have enrolled if it was my visit.

Could've had Hatton, Jackson Davis and Brent Bach in a package deal but they had "no interest". Sure would've helped ticket sales.
