Kevin Geary is named Head Coach of Shawnee
dyaste replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I talked to Coach Geary in the last week or so and he told me he resigned the job in I believe June. So the job should be open unless they have hired someone else. -

Mr. Basketball... Who you got?

That's just not accurate at all. -

Neither of those teams are Top 25 DII teams. IU-Kokomo is an NAIA DII team and UC-Clermont plays in the USCAA DII. We're talking about NCAA DII Top 25 teams, that's much different. -

Please do find me a 125-45 blowout between a top-25 DII team and a D1 team then... -

Midwestern State and Findlay have a combined record of 39-12, that's very good wherever you're at. NKU is 9-18. DII schools beat D1 schools every year. For example Malone University (a DII school) beat Cleveland State (a D1 school that beat NKU at home by 5) by 16 on the road. Bellarmine, KWC, Pikeville, Georgetown, etc. are all very good in-state programs that don't play division I that would play with or beat some division I schools. If you don't want to accept that that's fine. -

There is a huge difference between most division II schools and most division I schools. That said, Bellarmine would beat a lot of division I schools if they played (I'd bet on them beating NKU if the two played today). They've not lost once this season at home, and played three high major schools close in the exhibition season. Now, NKU certainly has a lot of momentum right now and may be better down the line, especially if they keep signing kids like Faulkner and Williams. But they still have some ground to make-up. -
Paducah Tighlman @ Murray predictions

People really need to get on the Tilghman and Murray trains. Either team could win the 1st region and make some noise at the Sweet 16. -
NKY Team/Player Rankings

Rare in KY period. 2017 in KY has so many good shooters. J.C., Sean McNeil, Mason Blair, Preston English, etc. -

He's one of the best shooters in that class. Has mid major interest right now. He's every bit of 6'5" and has one of the quickest shots as well. His quickness was a concern over the summer, but in my opinion that has more to do with overthinking his previous knee injury than anything. I'd have him in the top 10 NKY no doubt -
Cats Pause 2nd Region Rankings
dyaste replied to PurplePride92's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
These are spot on, could argue about whether Jaylen should be #1, but I think Tyrik has earned that spot. I will say don't be surprised to see 2017 Henderson County G Rob Dawson have a big year and end up top 10 by season's end. -
No doubt Tyler Sharpe is #1 in the region. Also there is no doubt Ahmad Price is #2. Tony Washington may lead Fern Creek in scoring, but Ahmad will be their best player.
-
Andy Flood should be either 5 or 6 IMO.

Cats Pause 10th Region rankings
dyaste replied to Randy Parker's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I would have Art no lower than 4th, but there's probably some disconnect between where I see him as a college player at 6'4" and with his shooting ability and his effectiveness as a high school player. He played really well this summer and should have a good senior year. -

Anyone else think Art Walker is way too low? I also think you could make very strong cases for Jekobi Wells and Jerryd Jones to be on this list. Both had solid sophomore seasons and seem primed to take big jumps as juniors. -

I believe at this moment 5 2018 KY kids have offers. Andrew Taylor, Steven Fitzgerald, JJ Reed, Ahmad Price and Anthony Wales. -
This is going to be one of the best showcases of the june period. Besides obviously Collins, Ballard, John Hardin, West Jessamine, Doss, KCD, Trinity, Apollo, Bryan Station, Bullitt East, Dunbar and Williamstown are in it. Each team is guaranteed two games, with pool play on Friday and a tournament Saturday.

AAU Memorial Day Weekend Preview
dyaste replied to HoopDreamsCoachQ's topic in AAU / Select / Club / Travel Sports
So does reality world include your quote which you've basically agreed was wrong or no? Or does it include the Travelers have made the Peach Jam two out of three years in Kentucky, which is considered competing consistently? My point has been this whole time that Kentucky does produce enough talent to compete in the EYBL or any national circuit. I believe I've proven that so I'm done.. -

No but it's just one example of the Travelers beating a team with more talent, which they've consistently done the last two years.
