As far as Ryle goes ....O'Hara is the way to go and Hendrix is in my opinion with Cooper .

Hendrix has incredible potential - the only issue is he can play ANYWHERE and be a huge threat to every defense he encounters. He is also great on special teams AND defense. I, for one, wouldn't want Cooper's QB in all those roles again (ala Morris). I like the young Lonaker, and think Brown is talented as well.

Are you saying that Hergott is a lock as the number 1 QB for the Birds? If not who else would be in the mix at QB? Anyone?

Lock going into and coming out of spring football. Something drastic will have to happen for him not to the be the number 1 signal caller for the first scrimmage.

1. Fieger, Beechwood A Senior that should have an outstanding finish to an already very good career.

2. Dressman, CCH A Senior that was forced into starting without preparation his sophomore year and did quite well. Good luck next year.

These are based upon who I actually saw play so the pool is limited. There might be others better I have not watched, but these two should be pretty good next year.

Dressman playing this year?

Some people crack me up. Does anyone believe that any self respecting coach would "give" a kid a position without making them earn it? That's cheating both kids and can cause you to lose a team. I guarantee the coaches at Highlands, Ryle, Cooper, etc. will all have competitions and give it to the player who earns it. Suggesting otherwise is simy trying to stir up a controversy that doesn't exist.

I assume you mean when there is a vacancy vs a returning starter, correct?

I have heard Cain's name at HHS as a possible challenger fo the qb position. :idunno:

Why would you move your top returning receiver to QB? As I said, Hergott will be the starter for the first scrimmage, no question in my mind.

Who is the leading candidate for the starting job at Cooper. I have heard of Hendrix but not the other two. Have the other two kids you mentioned gotten any time under center this year? Will Cooper have another year of having a QB for just one season.

You just never know.... Competition is always a good thing...

Remind me JOAT, Ggetting old here and memory isn't what it used to be, What position did Hoge play his junior year?

How many QB snaps did Hoge take as a frosh, sophomore and junior before taking the keys to the car and how many has Cain taken in that same time period? I rest my case on the matter. Hergott will be the starter in the first scrimmage and you can write that down and circle it.

Kyler Padgett from Conner needs mentioned.

2400 yards total offense in 11 games on an inexperienced team.

Fun player to watch.

Highlands give their QB's cars? So that's how they get the great ones. Just kidding, of course.

Like last season, not sure we have a "leading candidate". From what I understand, Prickett won his job in the pre-season over Brown and Hendrix. Brown will be a senior, while Hendrix and Lonaker will be juniors. What Brown and Hendrix bring to the table that perhaps Lonaker does not, is the ability to play defense and special teams in addition to multiple offensive positions. Is that a plus or a minus??

Cooper has lost very little to graduation in MY opinion. Hoping for fewer, less impactful injuries in 2015.
