Could be saying that Budweiser has always been around and will continue to be while some of these others are just a flash in the pan beers.

I am strictly a Bud Light girl when I do drink beer.

I have a friend who analyses beer like one would vino at a wine tasting. Mocking him is a source of entertainment for me.

 

I love to go into the World of Beers and order a Yuengling. The rolling of the eyes makes me smile.

 

Naturally, I loved the commercial.

 

I just saw a commercial for that Sam Adam's Cold Snap. Sorry, but this feller can't drink beer with fruit in it.

I think that it was pretty effective at least in that it got a lot of people talking about Budweiser today, at least on twitter. I pretty much like all kinds of beer, but I just don't understand the disdain that some people have for you if you drink a macro beer. It's like just because a beer is made by Coors it can in no way be considered good. Sorry, but I rather enjoy several of those types of beers. Sometimes a Bud Light just goes down really good. Other times a Stone IPA can be enjoyable. Just let people drink whatever they want to drink.

I prefer a darker brew (something along the lines of a Newcastle or Haufbrau Dunkel) but do not have a problem with fruit in the beer guy. I have seen a guy catch grief from his friends for an orange in a Blue Moon but have never seen anyone object to lime in a Corona. What's the difference?

I drink more craft beer now than I ever have. Had Rhiengeist Jacques the other day. 9.7% alcohol and taste good to me.

 

I will still drink Miller Lite quite a bit though. Frankily, I don't care how its made, the hard way or not.

Also... beer brewed "the hard way"? What the devil are they talking about?

I love a good craft beer. Actually prefer them to the regular domestic stuff.

 

Having said that, Budweiser is 100% accurate in the commercial. If you're a beer snob, they aren't for you. If you just like to drink beer, they're your guys.

I am a coffee snob, but not a beer snob. I'll take a Bud Light anytime over about anything else but I like others too...Coors (Herman Joseph's was my fav.), Miller, Heineken, Dos Equis (when I drink beer), Red Stripe (when in Jamaica), whatever they serve me in Europe- pilsner... but only lagers, can't do ales...I'm too lightweight.

Oh...and to answer the question, naturally I was not offended by the commercial. I have done the microbrewery thing, and it was OK until I had a beer/apple cider mix....finished it for me. That was 20 years ago, Mrs. Doomer hasn't touched a beer since. :no:

The funny thing is, when faced with a choice of only mass-produced American beer I more often than not would grab The Diesel. Now, not so much. But, I don't think Budweiser is losing much with me, it's been a few years since I've had their product. I try to avoid being faced with "only" mass-produced beer these days.

Of course, now that I know occasionally smelling the sweet aroma of a coffee porter makes me a terrible hipster butt hat, maybe I won't be allowed to have Budweiser anymore.
