April 15, 201511 yr I'm guessing everyone, on both sides, just wants the whole thing to go away. I agree with that. I was just thinking that once it got to a Grand Jury it was in their hands and no one else's. I could be mistaken about that though. My only knowledge of the law deals with speeding tickets and paying them on time.
April 15, 201511 yr Ok thanks, so you get in an incident at a bar, and then go to where the people you got into the incident with live. That doesnt make sense, unless your looking for something to do. Not sure about your college experience but in my college experience being in a dorm was always one of the safer places to be at. Especially after a fight. By all means though, keep looking for ways to try to castigate Drew. Don't let me stop you.

Not the dorm of the people you just got in an altercation with?
April 15, 201511 yr So the UK players where going to stay at the dorm? I have been in dorm rooms before and there is not much room where they all going to sleep? Pile up in a bed?

I can't answer as per the sleeping arrangements of these particular kids, however, as someone who from time to time found himself intoxicated while in college, sometimes a nice piece of your buddies floor was a much better option than trying to get back to your own bed. :idunno:

He was most likely drinking so I think getting in a car and driving back to Lex was probably out of the question.
April 15, 201511 yr The sucker puncher from the dorm is a low life and a coward. He may have gotten off Scott free this time, but behavior like this will land him in jail in the future IMO. Guy probably has 75+ lbs on Barker. If you want to fight him, be a man and do it nose to nose.
April 15, 201511 yr As a student at NKU, I spent many Saturday nights in Keene Hall at EKU visiting friends that where attending EKU. I wasn't looking for a fight or trouble. Sometimes you just go visit your friends from high school and stay in their dorms. I don't see anything nefarious about the kid being at an EKU dorm that night. If they'd have been drinking in Lexington, then he made the trip to Richmond it may be different.
April 15, 201511 yr If your QB gets sucker punched and teammates don't come to his rescue, he should transfer.
April 15, 201511 yr I'm sorry but there is NO WAY I'm not pressing charges if I'm Drew's family. Unless.... We're the police called to the dorm? And if so, was a report written? Doesn't that video eveidence show absolute assalt towards Drew Barker? So why isn't the legal system doing this on their own? If they see a Crime taking place or a law being broken, don't they have a duty to uphold those laws? I don't know! Or was none of this reported to authorities? Or was that not assalt on Drew Barker?
April 15, 201511 yr Unfortunately in some cultures, pressing charges would make you a "snitch" and there is a lot of stigma with that. I'm sure Drew isn't pressing charges to save face with his teammates. Whoever did that in the dorm (I don't care enough to read the prior 17 pages) will get his.

If they'd have been drinking in Lexington, then he made the trip to Richmond it may be different. Drew should have known better than go to Telford. Who knows what Pat had been told before he arrived but it's pretty clear that he believed that Drew was involved in the beating his boy took and also knew that Drew had no business being in Telford after what had happened.
April 15, 201511 yr If your QB gets sucker punched and teammates don't come to his rescue, he should transfer. I can understand why the other 2 UK guys went back to Lex for sure. What I'm confused about his why Drew's buddies from Conner that were at the bar, that he was supposed to be staying with that night, didn't come to his aid, knowing that it wasn't a pretty scene in the lobby at Telford. Maybe that guy (Will?) should have done more to help his buddy out.
April 15, 201511 yr I'm surprised there isn't more Scurry hate here. Read some of my earlier comments about the guy-- looks like they were pretty spot on. He's someone I really don't have much sympathy for in this whole thing. Seems more like a meathead that brags about throwing bottles at a future NBA player's car, then starts a fight with some guys from the bigger college up the road's football team. Kind of a pattern of behavior there. He was aggressively talking to a girl, starts a fight, then he and the girl dime out the bar for letting him in underage and all that as well. Probably not a very popular guy with the people who own it or most of the kids in Richmond. Not that it isn't the Bar's fault for letting underage people in or not controlling the situation better (doesn't look like there were bouncers rushing in, just a bartender standing on the bar... someone could have noticed and got to things before they got out of hand though).
