I've never been in a bar fight but I guess this type of deal is really common for these types of incidents. The only thing keeping this thread alive is axe grinding. The only thing I know for sure after reading through this is that several players from EKU and UK made several dumb and possibly criminal decisions that night. They should all be lucky that it ended so cleanly.

The guy who sucker punched Barker should face criminal charges, it was a violent unjustified act. I would like to know what Barker was saying at the desk and what his state of mind was. Someone had time to call or text the kid to come knock him out.

Yeah I kind of feel bad for Drew Barker for getting Sucker Punched like that. No one deserves that unless you are face to face with someone and it's justifiable. Now with everyone getting so defensive with one another about having one of your buddies back. Maybe it's time to surround yourself with a buddy that's not always looking to start trouble. When is it enough? Listen, I use to run with a guy that was known in his day to clear a room if need be. Wasn't very big but had a nasty left handed punch. After a while we couldn't even go out anywhere because it was becoming evident that people were looking for payback. The guy happen to be my best man in my wedding but there was a time that we would had a heart to heart talks about just going out and having a good time and not worry about being chased home after a bar fight. It was time to grow up!

This thread is honestly sickening. The fact that some middle-aged men, who have nothing invested into the situation, get off to bashing and belittling a kid is truly unbelievable. I have seen both videos, and there is NOTHING to suggest Drew did anything wrong. In fact, in my opinion, it appears as if he is trying to hold back his buddies from the fight while it is going on. Those who have said he played a role, either directly or indirectly in instigating the fight, are completely wrong. Also, what happened in the dorm was inexplicable. In no way should that EVER happen. That is as cowardly as it gets. Now, to be clear, I am not saying that Drew did no wrong in being there. He absolutely should not have been in a Richmond bar that night, he is not even 21. However, the false assumptions and accusations that have been thrown out in this thread by some, need to stop. If one of your main priorities in life is sitting on BGP and consistently ripping an 18 year old kid apart, you need to reevaluate your life and your priorities. Grow up and start acting like men. This is truly unbelievable.

Yes, of course. At the beginning I was strictly speaking about the fight. Later, I was speaking on the fact that he should not have been at the bar that night. So while he should not be at fault for the fight, he should not have been there in the first place. There is a difference. Like I said, Drew should have been there that night to begin with, but he had little to no involvement in the fight based on the video evidence.

Several of his friends and high school teammates go to EKU. He was with one of them, Will Ruholt when this occured.

He didn't get jumped. Getting jumped requires non-aggression on the victims part at the beginning of the altercation. He had time to walk away and then walked back into a group. The guys on the outside thowing punches and kicks are punks. The guy who picked out the only white kid in the lobby and sucker punched him is a punk. Barker sticking around Richmond after a bar fight was a very bad decision.

Ok thanks, so you get in an incident at a bar, and then go to where the people you got into the incident with live. That doesnt make sense, unless your looking for something to do.

It has been said they went down there because they have a friend who goes to EKU. Since they were at a bar you have to assume they probably all were drinking. So if they were drinking, then where else would you have wanted them to go since the plan probably was to stay at their buddies place that night. Not to mention I think that also shows that Drew probably didn't think he was to involve in the bar fight either and probably didn't realize they would go after him if he wasn't that involved in it. Now that does lead back to the fact that they shouldn't have been at a bar underage anyways.
