For something to happen charges have to be filed correct? Sounds like both sides probably realized it was best not to go down that route. So not sure what you think the NCAA could do to change it. It is surprsing though.

I thought the same thing, but Wave 3 definitely reported it, whether true or not. Showed pictures of the EKU player and everything.

 

Not very surprised. Story that was being floated around at one point around early to mid-March was that Scurry and/or his parents didn't want to press charges because it could/would have meant that charges would also be pressed against him for his role in instigating it. I'd put it here in one of the QB threads but it was deleted.

 

Whether or not those reports were true, I don't know, but if you think of it, it makes sense logically, and it was definitely something that was being talked about in some places like BGP.

So then, safe to assume that everyone involved was guilty of something and the grand jury called it even and chose to move forward? After all, every event had a factor that started it. Shouldn't that person(s) be punished no matter who they are? Seems like they assumed Scurry started it and got what he deserved and Drew took a beating for the beat down Scurry took.

Basically, yes, but probably more that both sides chose not to present things formally that would be considered by the grand jury.

 

Something that's also being overlooked is that Scurry was only 20 years old and in a 21+ establishment. Not really a situation where he probably wants to pursue formal charges, especially when it looks like he's the person who started it.
