February 10, 201511 yr That's what's so comical about it. He non-stop claims UK fans attack Ohio State' date=' complains incessantly about it, yet he does the exact same thing to UK that he claims is done to Ohio State.[/quote'] What's comical is how you all trash OSU and UL non stop on here but when someone calls your coach out, you pull out the blue blockers. It's just how it is in here.
February 10, 201511 yr What am I twisting? In the last few days you've made two claims on here regarding UK football and couldn't back up either. You always claim that UK fans attack OSU yet here you are never missing a chance to take shots at UK' date=' whether it's true or not.[/quote'] So I'm wrong on Lowery? Doesn't UK hav a zero tolerance with alcohol dating back to 1998. Go ahead twist that Woody...
February 10, 201511 yr What's comical is how you all trash OSU and UL non stop on here but when someone calls your coach out, you pull out the blue blockers. It's just how it is in here. It is a KY sports site, what do you expect? Have you ever seen a sports site where that didn't happen? Do you really expect balance in such a situation? UL fans excuse Petrino, you and other OSU fans excuse Meyer, FSU fans excuse Fischer and so on and so forth.
February 10, 201511 yr What's comical is how you all trash OSU and UL non stop on here but when someone calls your coach out, you pull out the blue blockers. It's just how it is in here. So now your a UL guy? :lol2: Seems like only yesterday you never missed a chance to drag the Cards through the mud. If you have a legit gripe with UK or the coaches fine, I'll be the first one to line up with you. But you said Stoops is soft on discipline. You've state two cases. One the kid is suspended. The other was a DUI for 1 1/2 years ago that hasn't even gone to trial yet. But hey, keep throwing it...you're bound to get something to stick.
February 10, 201511 yr So I'm wrong on Lowery? Doesn't UK hav a zero tolerance with alcohol dating back to 1998. Go ahead twist that Woody... He hasn't gone to trial yet. So now we're throwing kids off misdemeanor that haven't even been settle in court yet?
February 10, 201511 yr What's comical is how you all trash OSU and UL non stop on here but when someone calls your coach out, you pull out the blue blockers. It's just how it is in here. Wait, what? When have I ever trashed UofL? I'll wait. FWIW, I'm not even a UK football fan, so that makes your comment even more crazy.
February 11, 201511 yr I'm confused how you can punish someone for something he hasn't been proven guilty of yet. Let alone a case that has taken 2 years to be even tried, which honestly blows my mind.

I do think Stoops should have done something as circumstances warranted it. I don't know that it makes him very loose with discipline but it does give me pause.
February 11, 201511 yr In his short time at UK, Drew Barker seems to have his name in the news for all the wrong reasons. There are about 10,000 other D-1 college football players who have managed not to do that. If I'm coach I can't say I would be to excited about my hopes of future success being put in the hands of a guy like this.
February 11, 201511 yr Coaches do not have to wait for the legal process to discipline a player. I do think Stoops should have done something as circumstances warranted it. I don't know that it makes him very loose with discipline but it does give me pause. Exactly. Read this article on how Stanford handled a case where one of their swimmers was accused of sexual assault. Although it says that the accused voluntarily withdrew from school the swim team removed his name from the roster and his profile within hours of learning of the arrest. College athletics are not a court of law. You don't have to have a conviction to discipline a player. If their conduct brings embarrassment to the program discipline them how you see fit. I'm not saying that is what should happen in the case that you guys are discussing--I don't know enough about the specifics of it to say. I'm just saying you don't have to wait for a conviction. I don't know that it makes him very loose with discipline but it does give me pause. There is lots of disciplinary action handed down that never goes public. Does it have to be public knowledge to make the coach look better?

Stanford Swimmer Charged in On-Campus Sex Assault Says Drunken "Hook Up" Wasn't Rape | NBC Bay Area In UK's case were talking about a DUI, with Stanford it was sexual assault. Not even in the sports complex much less ball park. For the record Stoops suspended a player accused of rape.
February 11, 201511 yr In UK's case were talking about a DUI, with Stanford it was sexual assault. Not even in the sports complex much less ball park. For the record Stoops suspended a player accused of rape. A DUI is a potentially fatal event. It should absolutely be treated with severe consequences. But like I said I wasn't talking about any particular instance at UK, just the fact that a conviction should have nothing to do with the punishment if the action causes embarrassment to the program.
February 11, 201511 yr I'm confused how you can punish someone for something he hasn't been proven guilty of yet. Let alone a case that has taken 2 years to be even tried, which honestly blows my mind. Are you talking about Tubman? It hasn't been two years. Six months maybe.

I don't know if he is guilty of a crime, and I don't know his family likely some of you pretend to. But I can tell you that the kid needs to grow up fast, because he is proving that he is either a spoiled brat or an idiot. Once you get in trouble, deserved or not, you run from fights if you are an athlete that could make news. Everyone that says that "boys will be boys" or "college kids drink" are absolutely right. But, here is the big but, if you are trying to win the starting quarterback job at an SEC school, you are not a normal college student. He doesn't want to be treated like a normal student when it is supper time. He eats at the athlete mess hall. He doesn't want to beat treated like a normal student when tuition is due. It is paid for. Quit taking up for these kids, make them grow up and maybe we will be successful some day in football. Why aren't the basketball players getting in trouble? We win in basketball.
