Did Bank of Ky Officials cancel 9th Region Tournament at their Arena this season?

Featured Replies

How would you organize this plan of putting every student on the bleacher seats ?

As stated above, the problem was with destruction of the bleacher seats and not the chair back seats. So, I guess putting all students in the bleacher solve the problem. But if they did put students in this area only, it is split down the middle and put administrators from each school where it divides.

Your posts in this thread come off as being defensive of destructive behavior. I find it hard to believe that the BOK powers at be would make such a strong decision without strong evidence to support their decision. Do you honestly believe other schools cheering sections are the same as CCH?

CCH has the biggest and the best of all Cheer sections, that we know. But it pales to most college sections and they do the same thing. Nothing is intentional. It is just part of the game. Everywhere basketball is played the students stand on the bleachers, why would anyone expect the BOK to be different. If they don't like it stop it. Don't cancel events.

I am assuming that the CCH coaching staff told the Crazies to ruin the bleachers.... Another way to get in the heads of opponents. They don't want the crazies in their place, so they agree to play all games at CCH. Perfect plan.

Why not just say CCH students?

He just have thought that CCH was already getting enough bad press...... LOL

If there is actually damage it will not be hard to prove who did the damage. It wasn't Conner or Ryle's 8 students.

Actually Ryle had a nice section of students at the game the other night. Didn't see many from Conner. I know you are trying to be funny and not taking a cheap shot at Ryle just sharing the facts

Good to hear. Bad generalization on my part.

I recall a year or two ago, a thread about CCH cheering section student standing on padded team chair at Cooper High school to lead a chant. They are a large, loud and fun group to watch. There's no problem with the kids having a good time and supporting the team, but you have to know how to tone it down and respect the property that is not yours. I hope the games can stay at BOK.

Hey, here is an idea, lets just keep CCH out of the regional tourney? Happy? I am sure some will be thrilled with this idea! Just another attack on CCH and now the student section, the only reason, "we can't beat them, so lets whine about them".

ANY good cheering section might cause some damage jumping up and down, but to say it's "destructive behavior" is claiming that they are doing the damage on purpose. One, have sturdy seats and bleachers, and repair any necessary damage as soon as possible. Bleachers won't last forever and as anything else, needs some TLC every now and then.

As PaNDA has shown, even NKU's student section has stood on those bleachers.

As I mentioned, I find it hard to believe that the BOK would break a contract for the regional tourney over a suggested issue during an even that had nothing to do with the regional tourney that they had the contract with. Also, if this is such an issue, why not send some of the NKU police officers over and have them stand in front of the student sections?

I would like to see proof that the BOK is actually considering this. As I said, it would be horrible P.R. for them to break the "contract" of the regionals.

But it pales to most college sections and they do the same thing. Nothing is intentional.

Agreed! Heck, Duke must have to replace their lower bleachers every half the way their students jump up and down on them. Maybe they have better bleachers, or they actually conduct proper maintenance.

If this is ture I quess this coming Friday's games are also being moved

First of all this thread is dead wrong so instead of conjuring up negative comments about the BOKC management at least get your facts straight.

Second of all, it has nothing to do with standing on the bleachers. It has to do with students jumping on the bleachers and completely destroying a section (not cracking it, not a small break). If a bleacher section costs 10,000 to replace then do you want that group to break it? Next it also had to do with a student grabbing one of the railings and shaking it so hard it cracked the molding and plastic that holds the railing in place. This student was stopped by BOKC managment and not the school administrator who was standing within 3 feet of him doing this.

Lets stop with the "poor Covcath students" getting picked on by BOKC managment. They have caused some extensive damage and again this has nothing to do with just standing on the bleachers so lets get facts straight.

The rail thing is inexcusable.

Bleachers cannot handle kids jumping?

I see a "weight limit" coming.

Obviously they are not the old wooden bleachers that could handle anything. And I agree that the jumping should be more tolerable. Meaning the structure should be better equipped to handle. But again that is not the fault of BOKC management that is an engineering issue and whomever built the place.

So is the region tourney still there or not?
